Ok, ok, I'll try to not always be snarky on this point. Obviously, this tendency is fatiguing for some. So, I'll attempt to play ball and ask when crying is deemed appropriate in a story?

The failure to capitalise on the potential for drama amongst the Voyager crew given their circumstances and background was one of the primary criticisms of the show from its own writers, let alone fans. It undermined its entire concept.
It is strange that failure is now being portrayed as a virtuous comparison, but that tends to be the way with a lot of discussion about modern Trek.
I mean, I try to be respectful of a lot of differing opinions but it always makes me laugh so blasted much when something that was considered a failing in old Trek is now considered it's feature to be emulated.
Personally, I think that new Trek should try to do something, um, new. I know; it's strange.
My personal favorite is when I argued with someone about how they felt Discovery "ruined" canon when it was set in the 23rd century and then had the audacity to say that Enterprise at least "honored" it. I have CLEAR MEMORIES of this board, and other message boards of the day, ripping Enterprise to shreds because they felt it violated the sacred canon texts with every breath spoken by the crew.
It was so vindicating to go to the Wayback Machine and uncover threads here from April, 2002 all hating on Enterprise. The one that sticks out my memory most was someone saying Berman and Braga hated Star Trek. You literally could just replace Berman and Braga with Kurtzman and Enterprise with Discovery and it would be the exact same complaint.
Well, it's nice to see that the more things change the more they stay the same.

It's to collect all the crying, whether it's crying itself, crying characters, or crying about crying, in all its forms, from a shaky lip to a broken voice to Bellagio fountains in your eyes, so it stays out of other threads and can be discussed among fellow crying peers and ignored by those who don't care. 
I agree. As a viewer, it desensitizes me and an otherwise heartfelt moment becomes just like any other.
I really like the show, and most of the characters will become classics, but I'm so sick of them crying in every damn episode. It may even be a little sexist, like it's the only way a girl can convey emotion.
I prefer the crying and emotion, rather then the extremely stoic and robotic acting from TNG.
Ah yes, and just like my point above, how every episode of TNG lacked any emotion. Apart from a few that are constantly mentioned among the fandom like The Inner Light.

And this is an either/or situation then in your opinion is it? The options on the table are either 'extremely stoic and robotic' or people crying or overwhelmed with emotion?
I think there's a happy medium between the two.
As a manly man who likes manly things like contact sports and beer, emotions threaten me and I don't want to see them in my Star Trek.
The 'manly man' business is a lazy oversimplification - a person doesn't need to be a lumberjack or a Navy SEAL to hold the opinion that there's too much crying in Star Trek Discovery.
It's still a perfectly valid opinion regardless of whether they're a 'manly man' or not.

That's actually one of the reasons why i like the first two seasons of TNG so much. Say what you want, the crew showed more emotions than later on with only relatively few exceptions.

Yes, and some people can't express that emotion without crying. So, it's a fine way to do so.
I beginning to think that all the crying about crying is making some people hallucinate crying.
On another forum I saw someone complain that Burnham was crying during the call to her mother when she was doing the exact opposite! Smiling almost slyly.
And I think that line about her dad was intended to throw off any potential listeners. Secure line, sure. But you never know.
