First I heard of it, but starting a thread for it for the Sci fi elements it will probably have.

So I guess basically an alien spaceship explodes and these 2 go around the world looking for "Debris" from the ship, and Hijinks insue?

Made by the guy who did Fringe, and Almost Human, so going to have a Sci Fi bent..

So Thoughts?
Arrives in March on NBC.

As digificwriter said above, sounds more like the X-Files; IE - "Something is out there...(and it's laying in a field...)";)

Debris premieres tonight. The pilot is supposed to be really good, so the next question is will they be able to sustain it?

This looks interesting, I definitely plan on checking it out.

X-Files redux for the 21st century?

I feel like sci-fi/fantasy shows on the old mainstream broadcast channels becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy at this point.

"It'll just get cancelled after one season so I'll wait and see"
Then it gets cancelled because people are waiting to see if its cancelled before watching the first season.

I was thinking about skipping it, because I didn't want to get hooked on it and have it canceled, but decided to just go for it and hope it lasts. I'll probably watch it on Hulu or NBC.com tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, Manifest is heading into its third season without any intrigue or urgency.

Debris has potential, but if every week it's just going to be a new piece of alien debris that does weird things that have nothing to do with the other pieces of debris and their weird things, that's going to get old.

I was interested in what was going on for the most part, but the ending where the mom cried and woke up and then everyone else cried and woke up was.....disappointing. Just felt like they were trying so hard to make it emotional and feeeeeelings that I was underwhelmed.

The pilot emphasized plot over character since it threw the viewer right into the middle of everything, and the characters suffered, especially with the awkward and clunky ways they tried to introduce backstory.

It also didn't help that the male lead had the range of a 2x4. The female lead was good. Overall, probably give it another episode or two.

I think this might actually have been inspired by a Science Channel pseudo-documentary on alien contact. There were several. One with the real Trip Tucker—Travis Taylor—involved sabotage, another had giant manhole covers atop nukes (Thunderwell saucers) hitting a ship...but one laser sail dropped these black cubes everywhere if you all remember that one...

I just remember black cubes everywhere in an episode of Dr. Who.

I guess it was "original" to have them already partnered up (it seemed), but i guess it would have been better if they either showed how they got paired, or that they had been already, but on "mundane" cases...

Yeah, they tried to make him emote, but just wasn't feeling it. i wonder what they saw when they casted him.

---

I saw this with my wife and 10 year old. It scared our daughter, and me and my wife have other shows we can watch instead. Kinda disappointed.

So far, the artifacts seem to be cloning people and the clones act out the most important ideas in the people's brains at the time of cloning. Is this a crazy function of the alien hexagon thingies or is there an intelligence involved? Is this the alien plan, to make lots of clones and infiltrate the Earth? If so, it hasn't been working very well, especially towards the end of this episode with the 2 faced guy. Was that caused by them trying to "shut down" the artifact?

I wasn't impressed. I'm not going to watch something just because it's SF, it has to be at least kind of good.
