Most dating sites also have options to meet people just as "friends," so there's no expectation of anything romantic.

That's really what I'm looking for at this point. I've signed up and give it some time and see out it goes. Still, anything to improve myself socially at this point is a good thing I guess.

Oh, there's also the "strictly platonic" section of Craigslist, but I admit I've never used CL for matchmaking of any kind, and I hear stories about how it's used to sell "massages" and escort services, so be wary.

I went onto the job forums on Craigslist and the best why I can describe it and be nice at the same time was that it was chaotic. Not really my first choice of trying to "make new friends" as it were.

I'm 1.93m and tall women (i.e. +1.80m) drive me crazy already, but man, she would actually look down on me. How awesome and weird would that be!

Oh, I'm pretty much a full foot shorter than her but, damn would it be a fun night with her and I'd have to be on the bottom to make it that much more "interesting."
