News The CW renews Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, Black Lightning, Legends, Supernatural

I am glad to hear about DC TV...but pleeeeease! Spread them out....3 at a time...the crossover can do all 6 at the end of group 1 and before group 2 begins

I also think it’s odd that the fans aren’t tired of it either.

I've been wanting Arrow to end for a while now. I still believe they can still bring characters back for Crossovers while the series is no longer on the air. I might watch Batwoman on Netflix, but I don't want to commit to it because that would make it 3 shows on the CW I would watch weekly. If anyone would watch all 6, that's an even larger commitment.

One thing I notice about Arrow is how much evolution Oliver has gone through over the past few years, so that Amell gets to play new facets of the character. He's gone from angry vigilante (posing as dissolute rich kid) to leader of a team to mayor and family man to beaten-down inmate and so on -- plus there was the difference between his present-day character and where he was in the flashbacks, gradually being turned into the man he was at the start of the series. I'm sure that's kept the work interesting for him, and it's been impressive to see how well he adapts his performance to the changes Oliver goes through. He's a really good actor.

I’ve stopped watching Arrow. Last season all but broke me. And when we moved to directtvnow, it doesn’t have the CW. So my dvr doesn’t record it and I have to use the app. At first I forgot it was on and then I found I didn’t miss it. Same with Supergirl—last season I didn’t even finish. That I’m sad about becaue Melissa is PERFECT. But damn, last season was terrible.

I’m down to the Flash now. And LEGENDS. That show is perfect.

When it comes to The CW, I watch all of the Arrowverse show, Supernatural, Legacies, The 100, and Who's Line is it Anyway.

That's alot of CW in your life.:) Me I watch all the Arrowverse shows and Supernatural and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend(techincally). I am actually catching up with it on Netflix and will watch the final season when it comes to Netflix. I wish I had discovered much earlier.

Would have been awkward if the ArrowVerse shows were canceled considering they just announced the next crossover.

Huh, go figure. I really thought this was going to be the last season of Arrow.

Well...they only renewed it last year....it would be a way to go out with a bang...also wondering if they might develop the Outsiders...having Green Arrow be the founder...maybe BL taking over after a merge

It's the only broadcast network I still watch more than one show on. Let's see, in 2018-19, I only watch Agents of SHIELD on ABC, Elementary on CBS, The Gifted on FOX (though I formerly watched Lucifer there too), and nothing on NBC besides the Timeless finale movie. Whereas on The CW, I watch all 4 Arrowverse shows, Black Lightning, iZombie, and Charmed, and I was a regular Riverdale viewer until this past week or so.

I'm more than a little impressed Supernatural is still going. The only other genre type show I can think of going on anywhere near as long was Stargate SG-1.
I dropped off watching it a season or two back, not in a "fuck this show!" kinda way, I just got to the point where I was letting the episodes pile up for weeks, even months at a time and not really missing it, then when I got around to it, I was honestly getting bored. I don't think it's anything the show is doing especially wrong, I just hit my limit of rock salt and black contact lenses.

Speaking of letting episodes pile up and being bored trying to get through them, it looks like 'Black Lightning' is very quickly heading that way too, though in that case it's more a result of it approaching serialisation. Week-to-week, I'm finding it increasingly hard to keep hold of and/or care about all the threads, but when trying to binge watch, it's all so artificially stretched out that I'm having to resist the urge to fast forward. For me, that's usually a sign that I'm about ready to call it a day and move on.

Wow. Each to his own and all, but I find it hard to imagine losing interest in Black Lightning. To me, the show sizzles with a dramatic and emotional immediacy that the Arrowverse shows can't match.

Well, Doctor Who, of course. And Red Dwarf, but not continuously. But as far as North American genre shows go, the only longer-running one I can think of is Power Rangers, although it's iffy whether you'd count that as a single series or a succession of different series. (Ditto for its Japanese basis Super Sentai and its sister show Kamen Rider.)

Well we got X-Files which ran I think crossed the 10 year mark. Especially if you include the 2 year return the past couple of seasons. Then things get even more intested if you include shows that have spin-offs and you sort of looking it as that universe going on for many many years. The Buffyverse had a extra year with "Angel's final season. If you look at the Stargate Universe then that franchise must have lasted 15 to 16 years starting with SG-1 and ending with Universe.
