The CW has ordered a backdoor pilot for a potential prequel to series for The 100 that would air as an episode of the show's 7th and final season. The pilot will take place 97 years before the main series, and will follow a group of survivors on the ground who struggle to survive and build a new society. This new society will eventually end up becoming the Grounders encountered on the main series.
