Black Lightning's 2005 costume looks way better than the 2017 costume.

Nu Dynasty looks like it may be better than Nu Dallas.

Life sentence is a sitcom? Does not look like one at all.

Valor gave me the same "ick" I felt watching the pilot to Army Wives.

Black Lightning trailer did nothing for me. I just don't think I can stomach another DC show and the fact it's not connected to the Arrow-verse makes me uninterested.

Black Lightning looks interesting. It reminds me a bit of stories about Batman coming out of retirement.

It reminds me of the original Sam Raimi/Sam Hamm M.A.N.T.I.S. pilot movie with Carl Lumbly, the version that had a mostly black cast and focused on issues of racial justice and gang violence, before FOX chickened out and rebooted it as a weekly series that abandoned all the racial issues and just became "What if Iron Man were Batman?" I always regretted that the network didn't have the courage to go ahead with the original premise, and it looks like Black Lightning may finally be picking up that dropped baton 23 years later.

I think that's an unfair assessment of the show. I've never seen it, but the Wikipedia page suggests all kinds of time travel shenanigans, and even an invisible dinosaur. That's wicked (on a budget) cool! And anyway, premises change all the time between pilots and the first season--it's just part of show business. No need to hold on to it for 23 years. ;)
