Despite the late start that the Lagina Brothers and their partners had due to the pandemic, along with the passing of Kevin Burns, it seems that some interesting discoveries have been made. Whether work on the Big Dig commenced or not remains to be seen. My wife and I were making plans to return this year, prior to her two surgeries and the onset of COVID, so I will be most interested to what has occurred on the island in the last few months.

As stated in the promo, Season 8 begins on the History Channel here in the states on Tuesday, November 10.

The two-hour premier on Tuesday will follow a new installment of 'Drilling Down'. The fact that they are starting off with a two hour segment indicates that they managed to film a fair amount in the short time they were on the island this year. My source in Nova Scotia has been a bit mum on details, so I'm more than curious to see what the team is up to.

My guilty pleasure show!
Of course there was a commercial which said "The truth is finally revealed" so I suspect they'll find more buttons, and timbers that just leads to more questions.

Probably right about that, although the fact that my contact in Chester is claiming to not know anything about what on leads me to believe that he knows more than he's willing to let on at the present. Either way, I'm psyched for the show's return.

One of the things that I found interesting about the first episode was that it was the first time I can remember that the show date-stamped what was being shown. I knew that operations had gotten underway late this year, but it was surprising to the exact date of that first video conference. I'm hoping it won't be the last time; it's something I always felt was lacking.

I'm extremely intrigued by the pine-tar kiln on Lot 15 and the possible connection to the Barringer Survey. If nothing else, I hoping that they were able to pinpoint the exact, original location of the Money Pit.
