Read an interesting theory that Picard developing the iromodic syndrome, first in the AGT timeline and now in Picard, may have been caused by the kataanian probe in "The Inner Light".

He may have had a genetic disposition for getting the iromodic syndrome or a similar desease, but the encounter with the probe may have triggered something in his brain which could have lead to his getting the syndrome.

Without encountering the kataanian probe maybe he wouldn't have gotten the illness.

Which I first saw someone mention here, so I think it was discovered by one of us!
The video showing Batai playing it in Inner Light came from a Facebook discussion where people still thought we mean the more prominent Inner Light Theme that Picard played several times.
