Scotty (Overdone accent, very little character development)

Checkov (accent way overdone to the point of being ridiculous. Overall look and mannerisms of character was cringingly bad IMO)

I have knows several Russians and when they spoke English their accents were very thick making Chekov's portrayal spot on.

I gotta say I liked everybody's characterisations. Urban's was probably the best and Cho's perhaps the flattest, but still not bad in my book, quite good actually. I didn't mind Pegg at all, in fact the hyper Scotty seemed just right for this movie, and Yelchin was also excellent. This was my favourite part of the movie. GREAT ACTING TALENT!

I really liked Scotty and wish there was more. BTW - if you haven't seen "Hot Fuzz" with Pegg - do so! It's one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. I liked moments of Chekov, but I feel his accent needed a bit of toning down. Kirk was good. I really hope they get a better portrayal of Sarek going. That was a big disppointment for me. I didn't mind Sulu, either. Any I haven't mentioned? I'm still not sure. Wait! How could I forget - Bones is perfect and I want to see him with a much bigger part next time around.
