The Celesital Toymaker has passed away

Admiral
Michael Gough, who famously played both the Celestial Toymaker and a rogue Time Lord Hedin in Doctor Who (and played Alfred in the Batman movies) has passed away. He was 94.

Damn, I didn't realize he was that old!

I wish he reprised his role for the Big Finish audios but I've read that David Bailie did a really good job.

Rest in peace, Michael. :(

Another Doctor Who connection is that he was married for a while to Anneke Wills.

Very sad loss, he was a great, and underrated, actor.

And a man who starred in the Blakes 7 episode Volcano :(

He was a very good actor, and a fab Alfred!

RIP

RIP Micheal Gough.

Never saw him in Who but remember seeing a couple of classic horror movies and other roles.

My fondest memories are of of him, of course, as Alfred in the Burton/Schumacher movies. Graceful yet stern.

Never had a clue that he was that old.

I'm not surprised, I think he was one of those actors who always played older than he was.

Sad to see another great pass on. I've never seen the Celestial Toymaker story, but, loved him as Alfred.

Huh?!

Somehow I completely missed the fact that the Celestial Toymaker was Michael Gough. And I thought I couldn't miss him any more than I already do. Michael Caine is a great Alfred, but Michael Gough was perfect.

I don't feel genuinely sad, Michael Gough had a very long and interesting life, and outlived William Hartnell by over three decades.
