The case of the flying cake!

When I was groeing up, Mom learned quickly to be specific when asking what someone wanted for dinner. When asking, "What do you want for dinner?", 80% of the time someone would answer, "Food."

^that's her cue to make anything she wishes! if people eat it - good and well! if not - well it was food . . .

It drives me crazy when my husband says some variation on "whatever you want/I don't care" when I ask what he wants for dinner. To me, it's my cue to boil some hotdogs. I know in my head that he feels like you -- that he doesn't want to dictate -- but really, if I know I'm making something he actually wants, it's totally motivating. Otherwise, I feel like maybe I'm just wasting my time putting in the effort and should go get takeout (or boil hotdogs) instead. I'm kind of weird like that, though.

it irritates my hubs too - I know I should be more specific. I suppose it's disrespectful - but I really do eat anythinghe serves. I do try to thank him but I should be more expressive of that. Everytime I volunteer to cook he declines to le tme . . .

Everyone in my house knows that my favorite dinner is the one I don't have to cook. Whenever I come home and someone else is making dinner, the first words out of my mouth are, "OH! You're making my favorite food!"
