"the cage"

This brings up an interesting thought. Who wrote the fortunes? Lorca? Or are they reproductions of ones his family wrote years prior? Or generic ones the computer fabricated from some list?
I always assumed fortune cookies were made by thousands of trained patisseromancers, scrying into bowls of dough and typing their visions on tiny little typewriters.

I'm still going with that.

I'm not sure I would call this an "easter egg." It's a pretty explicit reference featured front and center, not something that you have to go looking for.

No one should become a couch potato. And the end of the day, it's a passive and sedentary activity. Having said that, I watch all kinds of things. But I'm not going to talk about them in this forum unless I can find a way to tie them to Discovery.

And now watch me as I turn around and switch to Off-Topic. :p

The original Dark Crystal film is great. Even though I haven't seen it in a long time, I recommend it to anyone. Especially if, like me, you're Generation X.

What is Generation X ?
Apart from a shit 70s punk band

Generation X were a group of mutants formed in the 1990s in Massachusetts under the mentorship of Banshee and Emma Frost. They included Chamber, Husk, and Jubilee. I had no idea Lord Garth was among this group, let alone a mutant (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Why would there be an easter egg there when they did a direct sequel episode?

Season One had lots of mirror references and scenes featuring them, and even "Alice Through the Looking Glass", all hinting at the Mirror Universe arc in the second half of that season.

Season Two had several references to cages, and there was even a "cage" quote from a fortune cookie.
