"The Cage" Stock Footage

Ha! Never noticed that. Do we know if that is "stock footage" or if they simply fit these extras in an older uniform?

Is that guy carrying water bottles?
Oh, hardly. Those are canisters of Alpha Control's preferred space fuel, deutronium.

Which, much like (di)lithium, is a recognized medium of exchange.

During the filming of the pilot "The Cage," stock footage of crewmen going about their duties was filmed to be utilized in other episodes. "The Man Trap" features some of this footage. Are there any other Season 1 episodes that use this stock footage from "The Cage"?
Considering that they changed the Starfleet uniform greatly after the second pilot (TOS - "Where No Man Has Gone Before") I doubt they reuse any such footage like that from "The Cage".

The SFX model shots were expensive, and there wasn't many so yeah, there they occasionally used some shots of "The Cage" 1701 but re shooting some extra in a hallway? That wouldn't cost much. ;)

Canon proof that Starfleet had more than one uniform design in service at the same time!

...And that Captain Ramart and his Antares were Starfleet after all.

Or, alternately, that Kirk on occasion shipped some UESPA personnel, what with once having served in that organization himself.

Looking at the frame grabs from the unaired WNMHGB, it seem that they used previously shot footage at least once -- they were in a rush to get on the air at the beginning of the first season.
