The Butterfly Effect reboot is in the works

Variety is reporting that THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT will get a reboot. Eric Bress (one of the writers/directors from the original) will write the screenplay, but no word on if he'll be directing it as well. Several producers from the original will also be back for the planned reboot. There's no news on when filming is expected to start, a release date or casting at this time.

Really? The first movie was a watch once and never think about again kind of thing. I didn't even know there was a third movie!

The second has a new Butterfly guy in a fluff confused having no idea what's going on for half the movie even though he was standing in an alternate reality. An idiot rediscovering the rules.

In 3, probably still a different guy, he had all the rules down, and used his gift, to work his job as a gumshoe... But then everything goes horribly wrong.
