The Burn and the Tholians

Since dilithium crystals are well, crystal structures, as are the Tholian species, could what ever particle or wave of energy that caused the ships in warp to suddenly explode possibly have caused the same destruction to the Tholian's?

Could the Tholian's no longer exist as a species in this future?

There's nothing to say the Burn affected anything other than dilithium crystals, so I'd imagine any Tholians that weren't around an active warp drive during the Burn are okay.

That is if they even used something analogous to warp drive using dilithium crystals. Hell, for all we know, the Tholians may have even considered them house pets - or at the very least, lesser versions of themselves. They may even have a unique relationship with dilithium that no other lifeforms in the galaxy can come close to understanding. Might be worth exploring this season, actually, considering the nature of dilithium has been brought front and center. How have they, the Romulans and other sentient species that may not use M/AM reactions for interstellar flight in the region survived past the Burn? Have they survived at all or thrived in the vacuum of power?
