I've always liked them because Voyager wasn't in a good position to have a lot of recurring characters, let alone children. I thought they brought out human emotion and motherly instincts in Seven, so they served a purpose just by doing that.

Yeah, Rebi and Azan could have gone the way of the baby... completely forgotten and never missed.I didn't mind Icheb and Mezoti, but the twins Rebi and Azan were absolutely pointless. I don't think they said 10 words between them and had no character whatsoever. I can't tell if the kids were decent actors or not since they were given squat to do. They should have retooled "Imperfection" by having one twin save the other by sacrificing his cortical node. Would have had the audience care for them at least a little.
This is one of my favorite Voyager lines ever!Without the Borg kids, Seven couldn't say:
"It is sixteen hundred hours. Fun will now commence."
I just about fell over at that one!!
