The Borg and Transphasic Torpedoes

Hi,

In the VOY episode Endgame, Adm. Janeway brought back transphasic torpeodes.

Voyager fired a few at the Borg Cubes in the hub, and destroyed them. Yet, the Borg still did not adapt.

The Technical Manuel says "transphasic torpedoes are based on generating a destructive subspace compression pulse. Upon detonation the torpedo delivers the pulse in an asymmetric superposition of multiple phase states. Shields can only block one subcomponent of the pulse. The other subcomponents deliver the majority of the pulse to the target. Every torpedo has a different transphasic configuration, generated randomly by a dissonant feedback effect to prevent the Borg from predicting the configuration of the phase states."

Then, in the book Lost Souls, they say the Borg Adapt!?!?!

Any body know how, when, and WTH happened???

The Borg came up with something .

IIRC they adapted after Starfleet distributed the specs to every planet and ship they could when all seemed lost anyway, so it's a fair assumption the Borg had the construction plans pretty soon after.

They're a little slow on the uptake, but the Borg always find a way in the end. They're a resourceful bunch .

This might have to do with the overall nature of the Borg. The Borg are a tough bunch but since they have to fight so many different people with so many different types of technology gaps appear. The Borg are unique in that they can adapt to those gaps really quickly.

I think it would have been better had the Borg been unable to adapt to the technology because it came from the future (an alternative one that doesn't happen as of "Endgame" remember)

Therefore the reason they can't adapt to it, is because it doesn't actually exist and even if Starfleet did in the future come up with something similar, the Borg still can't adapt to it because it is more advanced than all of their current technology

I've always had a problem with the Borg adapting to our weapons, I mean no matter what sort of shielding you have it get weakers when smacked by constant fire. I can understand having stronger shields but always hate the idea oh yeh they adapted so now our weapons no 0% damage.
