Eh...not really seeing the appeal? And that turquoise/red combination is a bit very colourful for a uniform.
But it would have been cool to have an Indian character on the show. Maybe if they changed Riker's or Dr.Crusher's ethnicity to indian?

Is this real?

Nah this is either a photo manip or A.I. generated I looked up "Amitabh Bachchan" and if it's the same actor he did not look quite *that* good when he was young (assuming it's the same actor)

One of the interchangeable Chief Engineers they had in season 1 was Indian I believe. Lieutenant Singh might not have been of Indian descent himself, but was played by Kavi Raz who was himself from Punjab.

Would've been easy to keep him around as an assistant to Geordie rather than play with the ethnicity of one of the main cast imo.

I remember him because he was understanding with Wesley.

Is this actually a thing though? The images look really glossy and it seems real… I actually think it’s quite a good idea to franchise Star Trek off to different cultures so they can give us a different take.

Taking TNG wholesale and swapping in Indian actors for visually-similar characters in the same roles is, ah...uninspired. A primarily Indian crew on a new ship is another matter altogether.

Funny concept and the AI images certainly look interesting. But to be honest I'm stupefied how anyone could look at these and think they are real. Maybe it's just because of all the AI generated images I've been exposed to online over the last couple of months, but these look so obviously fake to me. It's interesting how “AI generated” has almost become a recognizable style on its own, even though the idea is to merely mimic other artistic styles. It's hard to put my finger on what makes them look so incredibly artificial to me, but things like the way they are lit and how uniform details never seem to be … well … uniform, are tipping it off for me.

Frankly, the thought that there are people looking at AI images and thinking they are real actually really scares me, because you just know there's bad actors in the world who are exploiting this fact for nefarious gains.

A way to twig they are AI images is that the delta badges aren't consistent between Picard and Riker...Plus Riker's rank pips look melted. They had me fooled though. It is scary.

I love the teal/red combo and more SF uniforms should have a bit of braid on the shoulder.
