The Bjoran's would've wanted to hijack the Sisko bloodline?

If the Illuminati let it out where Jesus's bloodline tacked to these days, that would be a mighty river to steer. Making sure interested people are not falsely represented, which translates to power twice as useful as marrying a Kennedy.

They would have thrown all sorts of women at the Sisko, and Jake too, to ensure that that bloodline linked to their gods was tethered to Bajor and under the thumb of the church...

Yeah, I'm talking about Cassidy.

Surgically altered, brainwashed, whatever. The Powers that Be, actual scary people compared to that ham fisted evil Nun Winn were actually thinking and plotting about these thoughts...

Clones?

Re: The Bjoran's would've wanted to hijack the Sisko bloodli

They seemed like a gentle people whose nature would rule out any such scheme. But yeah I get your drift that they might do anything to get Sisko and his bloodline to stay.

Re: The Bjoran's would've wanted to hijack the Sisko bloodli

This assumes that we think they think of the Sisko in those terms.

Maybe they think, 'wow, it's amazing he's the emissary in spite of his alien blood', and not look on the prospect of it continuing as all that essential or interesting.

Re: The Bjoran's would've wanted to hijack the Sisko bloodli

^ don't forget the prophets expected the emissary to be a person from another world...who didn't really want to be there. So they would have accepted the great Gul Dukat as emissary if their beloved Kai Opacka vetted him. Fat chance I know.

Maybe blood isn't seen as important in Bajoran society as in our own. IIRC, they never really were interested in Jake, weren't they? That'd support my view.

Well, in the post-finale fiction, Jake just married a Bajoran woman who he only just met. Destiny or conspiracy? ;)

The Bajorans had a caste-based society up until the Occupation. That's as strong a fixation on blood lineage as you can get.

Though wasn't that the same woman he married in the timeline of The Visitor?

Re: The Bajorans Would've Wanted To Hijack The Sisko Bloodli

So no one is worried that Cassidy Yates is some evil sperm stealing sleeper agent put in place by Winn? And that was before they discovered Ben was the son of a profit and Jake was 1/4 profit. Any Bajoran Eugenics Program would have mental after they found out that their gods walked among and could be manipulated with a decent honey trap.

Jake is lucky he hasn't be slaved to a stud farm for all the devout Bajoran woman out there who want a 1/8th Profit baby. All tied to a bed screaming for a little respect and dignity as he's chemically readied to service a hundred clients a day or he gets the whip.

Kasidy already turned out to be a Maquis sympathizer. Isn't that enough?

Oh, Kassidy was an EEEVIL beyotch who was always scheming and plotting behind her husband's back. But all that scheming and plotting eventually led to her downfall when she killed some old man by withholding his heart medicine and the old man's young wife shot and killed her in front of Sisko's brother Wayne who was later elected the Emissary himself.

Very funny. :)

Alternatively if (and obviously) Kassidy was the good wife, then the Bajoran's would have had whores and spies throwing themselves at the Emissary constantly through out his marriage and we all know that he never would have given into temptation. Of course not, because he is faithful and loves his wife... Unless they slipped him some GHB?
