The Big Bang Theory - What's the deal with Leonard?

There's a lovely woman here at work who I've NEVER seen without a heavy jacket on. I happen to know from photos that she has a great Rubinesque figure, so it probably isn't a self-image thing. In the winter she wears her parka all day. Just one of those people who's always cold.

I think Leonard is supposed to be the character we can relate to the most. For me, I can think of people who I've known who are vaguely like Sheldon, Raj, and Howard, but I feel that I am most like Leonard. So I think they realize this and try to make him sympathetic, but they might go overboard sometimes, which results in him being viewed as "slimy."

At his best, Leonard is how I sometimes see myself, at his worst, I figure he's how others might view me.
