the big bang theory "the benefactor factor"

Yeah, I played WoW for years, and none of that bothered me. I didn't even notice half the stuff Checkmate is going on about. I'd rather have stuff that makes me laugh over stuff that is 100% authentic when only 1% of the population would even notice.
Who said it bothered me? Just because I noticed it, and am talking about a larger subject (namely "annoying some of the contrivances used on tv shows sometimes") and using it as an example, that doesn't mean I'm sitting here with a pitchfork and torch in my hands.

Would your enjoyment of the show been changed one iota if they used a different title for the game?

Yeah, didn't think so.

The fact you call it annoying implies it bothers you.

No, that would have been fine. I was talking more about your other suggestion that the writers need to do better research and get their facts straight.

If your online account was hacked, you'd contact the admins, not the police. And probably get your stuff back, and the other guy banned.

Uh, this is Sheldon we're talking about you know. It's EXACTLY what I'd expect him to do.

Yeah, God forbid. Especially regarding some a trivially easy thing to "research." Doubly so when your show is aimed at the very geeks and nerds who are involved in just that sort of thing. Especially when, again, they could have just used any other name they pleased if they didn't want to do that hard, arduous research that would require traveling to exotic locales and searching through dusty tomes written in some archaic language of yore. Because that's just how hard it would have been.

Yep. God forbid.

The show has to reach out to a larger audience than geeks and nerds. To a lot of people, they know of WoW, but wouldn't recognize it if Q put them in with a giant billboard reading: You are now the World of Warcraft game. So they used WoW knowing most of its audience would know of the game, but not the name of the world, or if it has Ostriches in it. Hell a friend of mine tells me about his adventures in there and he might as well be speaking Tamarian because I understand the words but not the context.

Had an employee who wanted to get a day off because he was leading a raid that day. I denied his request.

I love how some of these WoW players, think that real life should be adjusted around a virtual one  I love video games as much as the next person but thats just taking the biscuit.

I got countless hours of pleasure mocking him over his WOW obsession.

I finally watched the episode yesterday, and I thought it was a good one. Not necissarily one of their best but still very enjoyable. I don't play WoW so I didn't get the inaccurate references. I'm kinda surprised that their references were that far off, it seems to me like they are usually pretty good about being accurate about that stuff. While the stuff with the guys was pretty enjoyable, I think the best scenes were probably the ones with the girls. Is it just me, or is the show starting to be about the girls as much as the guys now? But that's not a bad thing, I like the girls, so I'm pretty happy to see them getting more of the focus.

Lately, the girls have been a lot more interesting.

it's fun to see Amy, who was probably on the outside looking in for most of her life, enjoying exploring having girlfriends (and her imagined best friend).
