the big bang theory "the benefactor factor"

I could'nt stop laughing . and what book do you think penny kept reffering to . what do you think of the show and the cast.

Funny episode. I'm guessing that book Penny is referring to is Sex for Dummies.

I figured it was something they put together for him themselves explaining the type of things he's always misunderstanding or questioning. Either that or "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex But Were Afraid to Ask".

there is that . I love this show I have the first season on dvd and I have season 2 & 3 on blu - ray . Do you think it will have a long run like two and a half men ?

good one . but how about 10 easy steps to pon far. I mean sheldon is a star trek fan after all. and now penny is quoting star trek come on .

Its been renewed for season 5 & 6 if I remember right. Theres no real reason other than the actors/writers wanting to end its run, why it could not do a 2&HM or Friends and I do dread the day when TBBT will end :(

Good episode, as always. Love this show. I did think, however, that the dialogue for Sheldon seemed slightly off this episode. Actually for Penny as well. Like when she tells Wolowitz that he's "a broken toy." And when Sheldon was making sarcastic jokes about Leonard when in the past we've been led to believe that he doesn't enjoy or understand them all that well. Don't get me wrong, it was still a funny episode, but it felt like maybe they had a different writer doing the dialogue for these characters this time or something.

Yeah "Big Bang Theory" was renewed for three more seasons. There was a fairly large thread here about it a few weeks ago. I've lost track with the show. This is a summer hiatus show for me. I use the summer to catch up.

It's OK for a character to grow, I'd prefer to have a slightly different Sheldon at the end of a seven or eight year run than the guy we saw in episode one. I don't think he's ever really had "friends" before this group, and the experience is bound to change him. Becoming more comfortable with sarcastic humour, for example.

^Well yes I agree, but this wasn't a gradual growth. The Penny and Sheldon in this episode felt very different and spoke differently than in the previous week's episode. It was more of a jarring difference, not just subtle character changes.

I disagree a bit on Sheldon.. he's just as clueless about social interaction and conventions as ever and it was pretty evident in this episode.
And why was Penny different than usual? She seemed pretty normal even so far as to mock Leonard after his walk of shame.

Just look at the very first episode when Penny admires their equation board and Sheldon clearly is smitten with Penny and is also hitting a bit on her with a look he gives her.. they dropped that "normal" behaviour pretty fast and set Sheldon in a different direction. That was a fast change to character.

The behavior and personality wasn't different, just the dialogue. Like I mentioned before, her line "you're a broken toy" to Wolowitz was weird, like huh? Why would she say it like that? She's be more likely to just call him a perv. I can't remember other lines exactly but the manner in which she spoke just sounded strange, like someone new was writing her dialogue.
