I love this show. It's nice to be able to watch a half hour comedy on TV again. After Arrested Development and Friends I had none left. This one fills the position nicely.

"What the frack?!":D

Best part! Penny looked pretty grose. Funny stuff.:bolian:

What's sad is that this is out just as Age of Conan is beginning to die and all the players are moving to Warhammer Online... so writing that would otherwise be "nerdy" is already dated.
I'm honestly surprised they didn't go after WoW... but I suppose they got a better deal with Funcom.
The reset button thing at the end was cute, but it's sort of emblematic of why I don't like American sitcoms. It's like this will never be mentioned ever again.

^Yeah, I don't really like that much either. I voted the episode an average because it wasn't any better or worse than the average episode really. It was funny and I enjoyed it, but there's been better.

My satellite cut out about 3/4 of the way through! I missed everything after Sheldon handed the date guy a bottle of water... :scream:

EXCELLENT

Best episode to air yet of the new young season for TBBT.

I was on the eliptical at the gym watching and could not contain myself when the classic Threes Company moment with Sheldon and Penny occured in his bedroom at night. I laughed out loud, too loud, the type you would if you were with good friends or alone and didn't care what others thought. So, yeah I got a few looks but was loving the show.

I'm starting to believe, when you squeeze all members of this board together in a room small enough a fusion reaction would start with Sheldon as the end result.
He's the ultimate Trek BBS member.

Excellent episode.

My boyfriend just started a Physics PhD program. I went to school with him on Friday to meet some of his classmates and I could not believe my eyes. They make Sheldon look downright normal. I thought, these caricatures of people cannot be real. But as one guy ran up to me giggling to show me the new superhero name he had created for himself out of indecipherable physics symbols I realized that truth is often stranger than fiction.

I read your post waiting for the punchline then realized the whole post was the punchline.

Truth is stranger than fiction

^ That is very true. The scary thing is I know a guy that nearly perfectly reminds me of Sheldon. He says he's a fan of the show.

The sad reality is that there are real Sheldons in this world. I know at least one male and 2 female Sheldons, and they are still physics undergrads, I'm afraid to think what will become of them if and when they will go to grad school.

The male Sheldon I know actually thinks that nothing except purely theoretical physics can be called science and has a strong disregard of engineers (just like Sheldon on the show). I have a B.Sc. in materials engineering - he insists on calling me "concrete engineer" and now I'm doing an M.Sc in mechanical engineering, so I became a "tractor engineer".

True story.

P.S. Excellent episode, IMO best of the whole series so far.

A friend of mine had a t-shirt made with this on it:

As a fellow physics grad student, I can at the same time relate to these characters quite a bit and be repulsed by their stereotypical behavior.

I love the show. :)

That's one of those things. As a former math guy, I've been conditioned to think of engineers as the plumbers of the mathematics department. Nothing personal though, since now I'm in English and I've basically gone down to the bottom of the food chain.

Ditto.

I give this one an above average. I was about to bust something laughing over Sheldon's near perfect yet unintentional "pick-up" in the cafeteria. And when Penny picked the cheeto out of her hair and ate it... I was hurting. By the time Penny went out on a cyberdate with Howard my head hurt from laughing. I don't know why but it really had me going.

And Leslie, even in such a brief scene, is the perfect foil for Sheldon. I love it. :bolian:
