I've been watching BBT since the first episode, and I remember most people barely having heard of it. When the first season came out on DVD, I had to search for it. None of the big chains had it immediately. Now, the other day, I read that it's the number one rated sitcom on television with roughly 18 million viewers.

:wtf:

When did that happen!?!

Shows what I know...I never thought the show would last 'cause it wouldn't appeal to stupid people, and you have to appeal to stupid people to get that many viewers.

Looking forward to tonight's episode. :)

Gets 12-13 million for a first run episode and DVR/Website viewing might notch it past 15 million but deffo not 18 million.

I thought the guys getting stoned was only so-so, though Howard's revelation was a bit surprising and I like Raj's Amercian accent but I enjoyed Sheldon/Penny, anytime those two are isolated it's usually good.

Unfortunately I missed it. Does CBS stream it on their website?

Last I knew, from personal experience, no, which really stinks.

What about once you add the Canadians? :)

That bit when Sheldon smiled in the hospital, he looked like Hannibal Lecter

Great episode. I was just thinking "it would be really funny if they got high and watched the meteor shower". Yup...

Not for nothing, but this isn't exactly Arrested Development... and people forget that Lorre's other show is Two and a Half Men. They've even started to go into the "smart wife, dumb husband" territory with the Penny/Leonard relationship as well.

I like the show, insomuch as it's the only sitcom that I'm watching nowadays, but it doesn't stray far from the classic sitcom tropes.

The timeslot change had made the biggest difference in viewership. TAAM and CSI:M both had huge fan bases, and anything stuck in between the two would have done well.

I like this show, although I find How I Met You Mother to be the funniest show on that Monday night lineup, Its pretty much been this generations Friends, although Friends was just ok. I actually prefer Seinfeld as my all time favorite sitcom

TBBT is performing better than the other two shows in the advertiser-important demo (18-49), this is why the show is getting the attention it is.

It is a cushy time slot but TBBT is doing better than what was on last year, what show was that? Rules of engagement?

I enjoyed the episode, particularly the Sheldon/Penny plot.

But there was one thing about the camping plot that bothered me, and that was: OK, so Our Heroes are authentic nerds, I get that - I'm pretty nerdy myself. But...are you telling me that not one of those guys had ever been high before? Not one could figure out, "Hey! We feel goofy and silly for no good reason. We must be high!" Or did they, and I just missed that part? Because when I was in high school and college, I wasn't exactly the wildest person you ever met, and even I knew about hash cookies and brownies. I mean, sheeeeesh.

But I do enjoy the show. A lot.

So you don't like comedy?

I just wish they'd put HIMYM and TBBT back to back again. With my DVR I have to record the shows before them so that I don't miss the first minutes of the shows, and leaves me feeling peeved.

That doesn't bother me as much as the tired "our unlikely heroes unsuspectingly eat doctored food and get high" trope. TBBT, Transformers, and The Closer have all used it recently.

I get it. They say inapproriate things and are really hungry. Let's move on.

It was done well, but I'm tired of it.

So you don't like comedy?

Are you saying Seinfeld is not comedy?

Exactly. Comedies are supposed to be, ya know, funny. That show never was.
Or is this nothing short but of an attack?
No, this is about that show, has nothing to do with a person.

You are entitled to your opinion, to each their own, as they say, but to say it's not a comedy is very questionable

what praytell do you like? And if you say: Mama's Family, I swear to god, haha

OmahaStar the way you worded your post easily makes it seem like an personal attack on ObiWanShinobi taste, maybe next time you think how to word your dis taste of someone else's preferences.
