The Best Trek Doctor.

Of the 6 main Star Trek doctors which one do you think was the best as far as being a doctor goes.
I said 6 doctors so I will name them.
Dr. Leonard McCoy---Original Star Trek
Dr. Beverly Crusher---The Next Generation
Dr. Katherine (Kate) Pulaski---The Next Generation
Dr. Julian Subatoi Bashir---Deep Space 9
Hologram Doctor---Voyager
Dr. Phlox---Enterprise
I think my choice should be obvious, considering my avatar.
My choice for who I'd want as a family doctor is: BASHIR.

Are we talking medical knowledge, surgical skill, diagnostic ability, or just plain likability?

I'd probably want Phlox, since he seems to have a pretty sunny disposition, and is a good conversationalist.

Hmm, Bashir's genetically-enhanced abilities do make for good credentials - but how can you beat a holographic doctor on a holoemitter you can just yank out of a First Aid kit and switch on at any time? :)

My favorite doctor is the EMH from Voyager. I like the others fine (aside from Phlox, just because I never could get into Enterprise), and I enjoy looking at Bashir, but the EMH is, in my opinion, a much more interesting character. Plus...he's funny. The others, not so much.

I agree with the post above. My vote is for The Doctor as well. I thought that the premise of an EMH having to assume the roll of CMO was interesting plus his character saw tons of development throughout the series.

Next would be Dr. McCoy, followed by Phlox. My least favorite would have to be Dr. Pulaski.

The EMH for sure. He had all of the medical knowledge of the Federation programmed into him, the precision of a computer, and he was the most interesting character. He carried a lot of episodes on his own, and they were usually among the top episodes.

Phlox would be the only other interesting one out of the group for me. Pulaski can die in a fire, and although Crusher was a very good doctor and likable enough, I don't find her particularly interesting.

And I'm going to cop it for this, but I'm not really a fan of McCoy at all.

Easily answered: Because Bashir is basically just as capable as the EMH...and he's cute. ;)

Dr. Phlox---Enterprise
he just seemed more friendly, get to now you, a doctor you could trust.
He was funny sometimes, not a hahahahaha kind but a giggle kind.

Bashir's got to be the best doctor medicine-wise with his mammoth IQ. My favourite character of the five is McCoy but I'm not sure if I'd always want him to be my surgeon...

Me, either. I don't dislike him (at least not usually), and he had some good moments, but then again, he also had many moments where I wanted give him a quick kick in the ankle. I can take his "country doctor" shtick only so long, and besides, it really really really annoyed me when he was mean to Spock - in front of other members of the crew, yet.

Growing up with TOS I would have to say McCoy but Bashir has the best bedside manner and that does count for a lot.
