The best episode of DS9 - Part Six

Okay Trek fans, here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favorite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you play again. Not a very accurate way of determining the best episode, but a fun game nonetheless. Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

Winners
Season One - Emissary
Season Two - Necessary Evil
Season Three - The Die is Cast
Season Four - The Visitor
Season Five - In Purgatory's Shadow
Season Six -

I think we all have an idea of what may win this season, but, as we all know, in this game it only takes one....

A Time to Stand
Rocks and Shoals
Sons and Daughters
Behind the Lines
Favor the Bold
Sacrifice of Angels
You Are Cordially Invited...
Resurrection
Statistical Probabilities
The Magnificent Ferengi
Waltz
Who Mourns for Morn?
Far Beyond the Stars
One Little Ship
Honor Among Thieves
Change of Heart
Wrongs Darker Than Death or Night
Inquisition
In the Pale Moonlight
His Way
The Reckoning
Valiant
Profit and Lace
Time's Orphan
The Sound of Her Voice
Tears of the Prophets

Easily one of Trek's greatest seasons, with only a few missteps, but one VERY large one.

A Time to Stand
Rocks and Shoals
Sons and Daughters
Behind the Lines
Favor the Bold
Sacrifice of Angels
You Are Cordially Invited...
Resurrection
Statistical Probabilities

Honor Among Thieves
Change of Heart
Wrongs Darker Than Death or Night
Inquisition
In the Pale Moonlight
His Way
The Reckoning
Valiant
Time's Orphan
The Sound of Her Voice
Tears of the Prophets

Profit and Lace
. No need to thank me. ;)

I was considering not even listing Profit and Lace. What an absolute dud!

I'll remove "Resurrection". I think it was the worst "mirror universe" episode in the series. Bareil and Kira's plan didn't make a whole lot of sense and it seemed as though the writers couldn't resist the chance to use Mirror Kira. Not to mention the timing was just bad.

A Time to Stand

I'll cut "Time's Orphan." The basic idea isn't bad, but it really doesn't do much for me overall.

A Time to Stand
Rocks and Shoals
Sons and Daughters
Behind the Lines
Favor the Bold

Removing "Wrongs Darker than Death or Night". In a very good season, this episode just doesn't do anything for me.

I think we all have an idea of what may win this season, but, as we all know, in this game it only takes one....
Well, that's what I would have thought about season 1, and look how that worked out...

The Reckoning. Because of the Pah-wraiths and the Prophets. It gets worse in later episodes, but that's where it really started (despite the possessed Keiko in S5). :scream:

I'd take out "Statistical Probabilities". Didn't care for the Jack Pack and it was a bad Bashir character episode, which followed up from the awful season 5 "Dr. Bashir I Presume" with its various continuity problems.

Change of Heart - sorry but that decision of Worf's at the end annoyed the hell out of me. Not that it isn't understandable to save your loved one, but if you can't reconcile that need with your duties then you shouldn't put yourself in such a position (i.e. shouldn't go on a dangerous mission together) - and Sisko shouldn't have sent them together.

One Little Ship. Jump the shark moment for me.

It was actually Kira who assigned them together. Sisko might have been on Bajor at the time the mission came up. But it was easy to figure that Worf would abandon the mission once Jadzia was shot, hence the episode's title.

'The Sound of Her Voice'

There's one specific moment where the woman they are all talkin' to loses all sympathy from me, and they used it as a commercial break cliffhanger.

"Find out she's a bitch after these messages!"

His Way. I. Hate. Vic. Fontaine.

Take out "Waltz" as well. This turns out to be another typical villain escaping from custody, eventually causing more trouble later episodes. I would have preferred it if Dukat had his day in court instead of this waste.

Take it out yourself! No? Fine! I'll do it!

Bye-Bye Who Mourns for Mourn? It's a creative episode (especially since MORN DOESN'T TALK!) but everything else on this list is too good to be skipped. I wish we could have about 9 winners for this season. I'd take 5 of these episodes over the winners of Seasons 1-5.

Sons and Daughters - out of the opening six episode arc, this one always felt a bit disappointing to me

A Time to Stand
Rocks and Shoals
Behind the Lines
Favor the Bold
Sacrifice of Angels
Far Beyond the Stars
Inquisition
In the Pale Moonlight
Tears of the Prophets

I'll reluctantly remove Honor Among Thieves. I like the episode but it's up against too many good episodes here.

Ugh. This is getting tough. Again.

After some hemming and hawing, I'll cut "Behind the Lines." It's great, but not-great-enough compared to what's left.

A Time to Stand
Rocks and Shoals
Favor the Bold
Sacrifice of Angels
Far Beyond the Stars
Inquisition
In the Pale Moonlight
Tears of the Prophets
