The best aliens of STNG's first 2 seasons?

The 1st 2 years didn't feature many AOTW, but there were some memorable ones, Q, the Selay, Ferengi (for better or worse) and of course, the Borg! So what were your favorites that were introduced in the first 2 seasons of STNG (not TOS).

T'Kon- OK I'm a sucker for lost races..these guys possibly surpassed the Dominion in power in the AQ.

Borg-Obvious reasons? A great menace.


Selay: A better reptile than the Gorn!



Crystalline Entity: ST finally comes up with a physical entity that's truly alien.


Iconians: Another lost race! Legendary even though they are never seen.


Conspiracy creatures:



Microbrain: OK another crystal..but what a crystal!! Its an inorganic planetary computer...long before Avatar. Quite a clever and underrated little gem that episode...


Bolians: because they became so popular as STNG's "blue aliens".

Out of the OP's choices, I'd say the Selay.

I agree with all of Rama's picks. I'll add just one -- the Traveler's species, from Tau Alpha C. Thought it was cool that they could basically manipulate time and space.

I thought about the Antedians, but they seemed too much like men in a costume to me...I'd have preferred something more articulated and alien.

season 1: the bynars. honorable mention to the selay & the neon-blue energy-cloud community from "lonely among us." the latter has always been one of my favorite visual effects from season 1; very simple, very effective.

season 2: the borg. no contest.
