Spoilers The Bad Batch - Season 1 Discussion [cue A-Team theme music]

True, where I would love the show to stand on its own, its place in the timeline however precludes it from being totally devoid of cameos, mentions, etc. The Empire is being built in the background, and its a story worth being told, though no one has asked for it, like Solo movie..

Being totally devoid is one thing, sure. I'd be honestly okay if even only half of the episodes had appearances from previously existing characters but they overused it this season. Maybe ONE(?) episode didn't have an appearance? That I can't recall if there was one says something.

Omega is a wonderful character, and I think her relationship with Wrecker (and to some extent Crosshair) elevated the show to a "want to regularly watch" status for me.

Omega is great. I look forward to seeing where her storyline goes.

What I also appreciated is that they didn't give in to the temptation to give her a "super" power. Just the fact that she is a whole and unaltered Jango Fett clone (albeit female).

A few little nuggets from the official episode guide: first off, not surprisingly Mt Tantiss and Weyland is confirmed (called it!) Secondly, the Clone Commandos with the grey stripes are apparently Imperial Royal Guard. Which on the one hand seems surprising since you'd expect them to have at least *some* red in there somewhere, but on the other hand not surprising at all that Palpatine would repurpose the CCs as his personal guard force rather than try and retrain the rank and file CTs.
Maybe the red armor is mostly ceremonial and they're meant to be a little less conspicuous when deployed in the field?

I absolutely love, love, love how often "canon" Star Wars incorporates elements from Timothy Zahn's seminal trilogy.
A much deserved tribute to the man that saved Star Wars.

This kind of thing is why I said 6 years ago (likely on this very board) that the people getting into a flap about the "decanonization of the EU" were getting over excited over nothing, because 1) it was never canon to begin with, and 2) moving forwards they're bound to cherry-pick all the best stuff and MAKE it canon! Win-win!

Palpatine's shuttle in ROTJ has a grey stripe down the 'nose'. It could be in reference to that.

Yeah that did occur to me right after I posted that. I think some TIE pilot helmets also had a grey stripe, bit I don't recall if that was meant to be significant (or even which movie it was in.)
Maybe all of the Emperor's personal forces from troopers to fighter squadrons, to the Eclipse itself are classed all as "the Royal Guard" and feature a similar grey stripe?

The last couple episodes were great, definite a great way to tie off the season.
I knew things weren't going to end well for Kamino, but I did expext the Empire to actually destroy the cities.
I'm glad AZ-1 appears to be sticking around.
I had been assuming Wrecker's loyalty to Empire wasn't just because of his chip, so it was nice to get confirmation of that when he said he had it removed. It does look like what he went with Omega and the rest of the Batch might have gotten him thinking about things a bit though.
Did the Empire kill the clones and Kaminoans we saw being sent off the planet?
Anybody else notice that the woman that Nal Se was introduced to at the end of Kamino Lost was wearing a uniform that would be familiar to anyone who's watched The Mandalorian?

To this day I don't understand it.

One thing that I kept expected but never showed up was some revelation about what the Kaminoans are really up to. What with the secret transport system and off the books lab, I kept expecting it to turn out that the above water cities were just a front for off-worlders, while the real Kaminoan civilization was hidden deep beneath the sea bed or something. Maybe that's still on the cards, but I'm less sure than I was. Hell, for all we know the Kaminoans we've seen to date have all been strandcaste servants and the real clone masters have yet to be revealed.

I doubt it. The Jango clones are still valuable so they're probably just being located to the new training facilities. It's probably going to take a while for the TKs to get up to anywhere near the numbers needed to occupy all of the conquered worlds, much less the build up for the push into the outer rim. Odds are most if not all of the viable invitro clones they salvaged are going to Weyland along with the Kamino scientists, either to complete their maturation, or to be used in research experiments, and/or stored in cryo for later use.

I finally watched the last episode (and I haven't read the last several pages of this thread). So was Omega designed to stay a kid forever? Or has she just aged at a normal human rate while the other clones, created after her, had accelerated aging?
