The Axe/Renewal List (March Sweeps)

No Ordinary Family - Likely to be cancelled

Not sure how many episodes are left to air, but it's looking a lot like we're going to have yet another series with a cliffhanger/unresolved issues.

Hopefully I'm wrong and they'll wrap it up, but I'm not getting the "warm and fuzzies" about that happening.

I doubt they will. The creators should be looking at the numbers and should realize by now that they are most likely to be canceled. But that's a lot of shoulds for a show as boring and blah as NOD.

Actually that show kind of grew on me over time, maybe because I'm a Chiklis fan, so lately I've kind of been enjoying it. Last night they introduced yet another player to the mix and I'm like "Oh crap this is getting even more involved and there's very little time to resolve it."

Of course it's my own fault. I told myself after LOST I was never going to watch an on-going mystery arc show again. And yet I did. So shame on me.

The show isn't bad, but for the first 15 episodes nothing really happened, and now they finally go "Maybe the show should have a point", but it's way too late now to solve anything.

If it ends well I might watch just because Xena is on it.

So has CBS announced their new shows for the fall yet?

NCIS: Anchorage
CSI: Topeka
Criminal Minds: Repeat Offender
Detective Attorney, M.D.

One of the following...Rules of Engagement, $#*! My Dad Says and Mad Love may have some hope for pickup should CBS cancel Two & Half Men + if CBS still wants to keep the 2nd comedy block on Thursday nights. Personally I would scrap the Thursday comedy block and let "Big Bang Theory" become the king of monday nights at 9pm.

Mad Love is gone, it keeps dropping each week. Need to stabilize but likely gone I'd think.

Rules and $#*! have nearly identical numbers.
I'm biased I want THE SHAT, but realize Rules is 30 episodes away from syndication. Could CBS find a way to keep both. I'd think both shows could/are being done for the cost of 2.5 Men. And lets be honest, after that cliffhanger on $#*! My Dad Says we all want to see who is standing at the door!! What actor, of merit hopefully, might they get?? That would be a good hook for a second season that breathes new life into the show.

I thought RoE was really funny in the beginning... it's gone quite a bit downhill from what I've seen, but I'll still watch occasionally for Patrick Warburton.

I know it's unlikely, but I hope The Chicago Code somehow survives it's initial order of 13. I'm really liking the show and would love to see it develop over a year or two.

I'm with you on that one, and am kind of surprised no one else seems to be talking about it on the board.

These are the shows I watched this season. Looks like I'll be watching almost all new shows in the fall...
Hawaii Five 0 - Likely to be renewed
Human Target - Likely to be cancelled
Fringe - Likely to be cancelled
Chuck - Likely to be cancelled
The Cape - Likely to be cancelled
The Event - Likely to be cancelled
Undercovers - Already cancelled
Nikita - Likely to be cancelled
Smallville - Ending

For the first time that I can remember, there is nothing on any broadcast network that I care about continuing to watch. They should cancel everything and start over (except that they'd just swap in more of the same old crap). :rommie: In NBC's case that's virtually what they're going to do anyway...

There are only two shows that I watch that are in danger of cancellation: Chuck and Fringe. I expect both to back in shortened forms next season to finish up their runs. But I always think cancellation in the back of mind.

Started watching Perfect Couples and Traffic Light. Perfect Couples is okay, Traffic Light is really pretty good. Lots of laughs, and I had given up on sitcoms.

Really? I'm watching both of those on Hulu but I find them pretty forgettable.

Well, I need something to laugh about.

Most of the rest I watch is scifi (yeah, Walter of Fringe provides some laughs, but also pathos) and various reality-ish shows (House Hunters, Top Chef, Hometime, etc--no Housewives-from-anywhere or shows about New Jersey).
