The Avengers 50th Anniversary of Steed and Mrs Peel 1965-2015

Just a tiny peek at one of the rough drafts for a character page on the website for the production. There will be loads of pages and content that will unlock step by step ahead of the kickstarter campaign launch and added to during the campaign.

I think people would be more likely to like and share if there was some content to like and share.

I thought this had been explained at the beginning of the thread. We haven't filmed anything yet as this is a production that will be seeking funding through a kickstarter later this February, so content is limited, and what we do have will be released shortly and over several weeks on trending days (i.e. Thursdays) before and during the campaign.

We simply have too few followers to release all the content so far, which won't hit a big enough audience, which then doesn't trend and the kickstarter campaign will suffer as a consequence with lack of trending and audience and we won't be able to shoot anything.

As my publicist says 'you have to leave room for speculation and anticipation'

We also have to spread current content to bridge with new content otherwise the gap between will be too great and the trending situation dies again.

The site has a timer counting down to the first clearance of tabs that will bring the premise, concept and character profiles to the audience... It's meant to be a bit of fun.

It sounds like you know what you're doing. I'll check back for something that strikes my fancy.

This kind of social media campaign can become a chicken and egg issue if you're not careful. You want people to like/subscribe/follow so that future posts will reach an ever-expanding audience, but you also need to put up something compelling enough to get them to like/subscribe/follow in the first place.

Right now I feel like there's not enough of a hook there to get the initial traffic there. You need a bit more bait, chum. ;)

Update

For anyone interested, here is the official outline of the tribute, as per the information on the official site and facebook (link below) -

The Avengers One Shot

John Steed and Emma Peel return like you've never seen before, in a prequel short series celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic fourth season.

The Avengers is a British short film spy series based on characters appearing in the original sixties TV series of the same name. Set five years before the events of the original fourth series, the films features a young John Steed and a young Emma Knight (Before she becomes Mrs. Peel).

Although its time setting is not determined, the series is visually inspired by the early 60's, 80's and current London.

While it is based on the characters of the original series, the short film series is separate from any of the Canal TV universe/canon of the original, however chronologically it remains to be seen as a prequel.

This prequel series of one-shots serves as the origin stories of several key characters of the Avengers series. The first independent fan based season order consists of 4 episodes, one 14 minute one-shot and three 4 minute one-shots.

Marking the 50th anniversary of the first Steed and Mrs Peel episodes, The Avengers premieres on October 2, 2015

Premise -

Recently bequeathed her father's company Knight technologies, the young and reckless Emma Knight is forced to take matters into her own hands when scientists who worked with her father are being murdered under strange circumstances.

When her life is endangered she is rescued by the enigmatic John Steed, a former SAS major, and man of mystery. Reluctantly working together, Steed and Emma must learn to trust each other when they take their investigation to United Automation and a former colleague of Emma’s father; Professor Armstrong, resulting in a dangerous game of cat and mouse with cybernetic drones 'Cybernauts'.

I'm a sucker for any pretty girl in a sexy catsuit! Bring it on!

(as long as she's a lot better at martial arts than Mimi Rogers, who was THE worst onscreen martial artist since John Saxon in Enter the Dragon)

If memory serves well, Steed did not wear his bowler, nor his suit in the first season. He rather looked like Peter Falk's Columbo in a trench. But on the posters, Steed looks like he did in the later production years. Will that be somehow adressed? (Not that I complain - just curious...)

Didn't think you were complaining, appreciate any questions or feedback :techman:

In answer to your question, Steed's attire will be addressed in this prequel, with the bowler only making vital appearences when necessary, a reason for which will be explained. With this being stylised much like the original, the younger Steed's attire will be similar to his series 1 attire but probably more akin to the styling of Neal Caffery from 'White Collar' which bears some resemblance to a blend of Steed's styling over the years. The much forgotten trilby will be making a return.

Sounds like you really did your homework. I am looking forward to seeing the final product. With all the new possibilities in crowdfounding, who knows where this might lead in the end. I for one hope for many full lenght episodes... :)
