The audio dramas

Huh. I'll have to check on that. Seeing as Wedge was played by two people in the same film (and for whatever reason Lucas decided not to fix it with Special Edition), I'm not too torn up over that.

Of the three ANH is definitely my favorite, even if it is basically six hours long. A standout for me, from RotJ, is Brock Peters "Darth Vader's master, yes. But not Anakin Skywalker's!"

Oh, and I am now doing the other official audio dramas. The ones from Dark Horse comics. I finished Dark Empire I, the first Tales of the Jedi and am now on the second Tales of the Jedi.
Seek out the Dark Forces audio dramas. They were mixed by the same sound engineer who produced the NPR plays.

Thanks. I've been looking on Wookieepedia to find all of the dramas that they made. I finished Tales of the Jedi (Beast Riders of Onderon/Nomi Sunrider/Freedon Nadd Uprising) and Dark Lords of the Sith, and I'm bummed that they didn't make The Sith War. That's like not doing RotJ when you've already don ANH and ESB. Wait...

I'm doubling back o do Dark Empire II. I'm just past the part where Chewie pulls Boba Fett off of Han.

@Geekgarious the Dark Forces dramas are the next on my list. I played a couple levels of the first game and was obsessed with the second. Briefly scanning Wookiee shows me that the EU really expanded Jerec. So now he's connected to Jocasta Nu? I know nothing beyond the story of the second game, so it will be fun.

Once I'm done with the dramatizations I'll start doing the narrated novels.

Don't forget the Shakespeare "adaptations" of the OT in audio drama form! They were all great fun - presented as though you were in the Globe Theatre back in the day, from the presentation of the cast to all the weird anachronisms to make it appear less spacey. I was laughing so hard at their performance of the "Who shot first" dilemma. :)

Ok, I might have to check out the audio versions of the Shakespeare Star Wars stories. That's the kind of thing that seems to me like it would work a lot better with a cast performing it than just a script you're reading.

Is there music and such in the Shakespeare one? Oh, and I think I am going to have to script up a drama for the Sith War to Round out the Nomi Sunrider and Ulic Qel-Droma saga.

Outside non-English languages....not many. Despite the pun, the man is a machine when it comes to C-3PO.

Don't forget Rebel Mission to Ord Mantell, written by radio drama writer Brian Daley. It's almost like a deleted episode of the TESB drama (with a different cast).

Just as good as the radio dramas. On fact, this is included in my head canon..

The Solo Adventures
Han Solo trilogy by radio drama author Brian Daley
Star Wars Radio Drama
Star Wars Holiday Special cartoon segment with Boba Fett
Rebel Mission to Ord Mantell
Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi

Depending on how complete you want to be your quest, there is also a pair of read-along book and tapes based on the old Marvel comics series.

There was "Droid World", adapted from the story of the same name in Star Wars 47, written by Archie Goodwin...

And there was "Planet of the Hoojibs", adapted from "Plif!" in Star Wars 55, written by David Michellini...

And yes, I once owned all of these.;)

Awesome. I started Dark Forces 1. Never really played the first game and the first hour or so of it is background material. I will get back to it today after taking a week off. Really wish that the Crimson Empire dramas were up on YouTube. Thanks for the recommendations. I will definitely check out the Marvel Comics ones..

Gotta get us some Lando in the mix.

Until I saw the cast list for Rebel Mission to Ord Mantell in the link, I honestly didn't think there were any.

I recall hearing them many years ago, but the only thing that stands out to me was the extensive torture of Leia. Quite unsettling to a young kid.

Thanks again, guys. Yeah, the Leia scene was INTENSE. It convinced me that Peters is at least the equal of James Earl Jones.
