The Asylum's next masterpiece... "The Terminators"

How is it they're NOT being sued for this one?

The Asylum:
Humanity has developed advanced robotic technology with enhanced artificial intelligence. By means unknown, their own machines instigate a cybernetic revolt against humanity, triggering a global civil war between the machines and the humans.

As the war presses on, the machines develop an army of invincible cyborgs, completely ruthless and virtually indestructible, to eliminate the human race once and for all.

The Terminators look like a mix of Terminators and nuBSG Cylons btw.

What's worst about The Asylum is that with their small budgets you could still make quality movies that are character-driven and can appear at film festivals, instead of all these crappy ripoffs filmed in two weeks that can't afford the special effects they're trying for.

They love ripping off sequels and remakes since those are the easiest to also steal plot elements from instead of just having a similar title and cover art (they're all set with their Transformers and Land of the Lost coattail-riders), so I wonder if they've got a Sherlock Holmes movie lined up for the winter.

I don't think that they could be sued since the "robot vs humans" theme is as old as the genre of scifi (one could argue that Frankenstien was the first to use it) and is in public domain.

I've noticed that the ships in the trailer look alot like the Eagles in Space: 1999. Martin Landau is spinning in his....what? He's still alive? Oh cool. :)

I've said this before, but I always wonder what the atmosphere must be like on the set of these films.
Surely everyone there from the actors, director, extras, lighting people all know this is dogshit that hardly anyone will watch or care about.
Actually it wouldn't suprise me if the director were this completely deluded fuckwit who thinks he's making some Oscar worthy masterpiece

Well if anything, I got a new avatar so it's not a total loss

As for getting sued, the basic "Machine turn on humans and kills us all" isn't exactly exclusive to the Cameron Terminator franchise. It's really only the name they might get them in trouble.

^ Go on YouTube and look at the Transmorphers trailer. Now there's cutting edge effects and premiere acting for you!

The only way I could see them NOT getting sued for ''copyright'' is because everybody knows TERMINATORS (T-800) are KEWL! & THE TERMINATORS SUCKS!:guffaw:BtB THAT'S what they look like? Your KIDDING!?!?!
Nope. The new ava is from the poster of the movie, the trailer has a pretty poor CGI model that's not that far off from the poster...well aside from being crappy CGI .

Something must have happened cause they had a "Star Trek" (2009) knock planned a year ago and now it's just *poof* gone. IRC, the poster even had a pretty recongnizble USS Kelvinish ship on it.

Of course love the fact they they have a religous film division, and are making movies like SEXPOT 3-DDD.
