The Ashes of Eden - comic version

I was flipping through my comic version of The Ashes Of Eden, and I noticed when Kirk, Spock, and McCoy were talking about Kirk leaving Starfleet, there is a bottle of Picard wine in the room. Was that mentioned in the book, or just done for the comic?

I can't remember, but a bottle of Picard vineyard champagne also makes an appearance at the end of the Chris Clairmont, Adam Hughes and Karl Kessel Debt of Honor graphic Trek novel.

And a bottle of Chateau Picard was used to christen the Enterprise-B in Generations. Given all the in-jokes, it would appear that Chateau Picard is the only surviving vineyard on Earth in the Federation era.
