I'd LOVE to see that. "Never mind we figured out a solution on our own, ya'll get back to charting those gas-bubbles or whatever you were doing."

Yeah, even in a more P.C. modern world I can't imagine James T. Kirk doesn't emerge from a film the ultimate hero and with a new medal slapped on his chest. Being more eclectic and multifaceted a movie doesn't mean you have to give up on the heroics and chest-thumping.
