The Animated series?

Is it like watching a Trek episode or Superfriends?

Yeess...
a supertrek!

heh... (crickets... lone cough...)

Keep in mind it was designed for Saturday morning cartoon watchers but so was Land of the Lost and that was pretty cool in my opinion.

I'd say yes. Just keep in mind the era it was made and that the animation, by today's standards, shouldn't be comparable. If you can get past that and emmerse yourself in the plots, I think you'll really like what they tried to do.

Agreed. Concentrate on the stories and enjoy the voice acting and I think you'll enjoy it.

It's Star Trek. Thus it is worth watching ;)

It does veer between superb and pretty awful though. Just like the rest of Trek really :D

If you don't want them, send them to me and I'll watch. I haven't seen them in years, but I remember them fondly.
If you are an anime freak, you probably will not like the animation, but the stories were often good.

Listen as if they're radio plays. I like them because there's a lot less corny fighting, frankly.

You make a good point. I had not thought of it that way.:techman: I remember the first time our local radio station replayed "War of the Worlds" when I was a teenager. My imagination was scarier than either of the movies I saw years later.

Definitly watch it all. There are some pretty supurb stories in there for a kid's show. Also, some of the ideas for aliens and concepts that could never be explored in the original series are there because of the animation. Plus it uses the voices of all the original actors except Koenig. I think of it as TOS season 4.

I enjoyed the few I've seen, even the animation. But then again, I hate anime, so this is sort of right up my alley.

While the animation itself is "limited" almost to the point of being motionless, the background plates, the art representing alien landscapes and architecture is outright beautiful, very imaginative! In fact, in the recent "Remastered" series, the art team slipped in a shot of a Vulcan city near the horizon in "Amok Time", basing it upon the design of Spock's "home town" Shi'Kahr [sic] revealed in "Yesteryear" arguably one of the best stories of the animated series.

Sincerely,

Bill

Watch it. It has some very intelligent ideas for a kids series, allows us to see truly alien new worlds which they couldn't afford on TOS, and some great episodes. I like it personally. Just as canon as TNG, DS9, VOY, or ENT. It's also referenced on DS9, ENT, the TOS Remastered series, and in the new JJ Abrams film.

I'd say that,Just keep in mind the era it was made and that the animation, by today's standards,I like watching a Trek episode and Superfriends?
