I feed little birdies when I got bread crumbs. There';s even a woodpecker that's learned I do this, and it swoops down and grabs something, sometimes looking at me because it knows if it wait a second, I'll toss it a bigger piece.
This woodpecker also learned a trick. I wanted to feed it, but it was up in the tree limbs above me, so I kept tossing up a piece of bread. After about six or seven tries, it figured out I was trying to feed him, swooped down and grabbed it mid air.
And bluebirds love peanuts. There used to be a guy who would come to a local park I go it, and he would feed the squirrels, bringing lots of peanuts. He's had twenty to thirty squirrels at times, literally swarming in circles around him like sharks.
So, I watched this guy toss peanuts in a shell up into the air and while it fell down for the squirrel, a Bluebird swooped down, grabbed it mid air, and was gone. Meanwhile the squirrel is standing there, looking confused wondering where the fuck his peanuts are.
