And not just any owl I think about five or six of ones like that last one on the doorstep.

I've had things like that happen. One example: one day a dove landed on my driver's side rear view mirror and just sat there watching me. But I had to leave, so as the vehicle got faster, it eventually left.
That in turn reminds me of a time a lizard clung to my hood while I was going 45/50 MPH. That sucker was still there when I got to my destination.
