Purely by coincidence, I was able to pet and say hi to three different horses on my bike ride today.
 
Fun fact I found out the other day, there have been actual scientific studies that have shown that horses emit a strong electromagnetic field that allows us to sense each other from farther away, and makes us feel calmer, more relaxed, and happier when we're around them.

Just horses, not all domesticated? I think it applies to any animal a person loves.

My first experience with one was when I was under 10. I was plopped down onto the rump of a HUGE, full grown version behind a saddle-less rider, told to hold on as it was spurred into a full gallop for 100 yards.

Well, that just seems like a bad idea.
 
My mom follows some animal shelters too, and there are a couple that are actually working on taking in a couple of water buffalo. I honestly had no idea that people even had water buffalo in the US outside of zoos.
