The Animals That Aren't Dogs or Cats Thread

Moby at Arthur's Acres doesn't seem to understand that at only 150lbs, it might not be a good idea to pick a fight with the 650lb Arthur. And just in case anybody is wondering Moby is a Kune Kune pig, and that's as big as they get, while Arthur is a farm pig.

This pisses me off so much, there are places in the US where people are allowed to hunt captive zebras. All Seated in Barn has a Zebra named Felix, that's him in beginning of the video, a woman I follow on IG has a Zorse, and another rescue, Skydog Sanctary, has a couple of zonkeys, and they are all from these places.

I just found that I misread Google Earth and the animal sanctuary I've been starting to think I might want to volunteer at, that I thought was 20 miles away, is actually 10 miles away and 20 minutes away by car. Which is only about 5 minutes farther away than one of the parks we got to on a regular basis. So that means one the things that caused me the most heistation, the distance, is in fact not as much of a problem as I thought. And even if I can't get a ride from my mom, depending on the route I take it's between 45 minutes to an hour by bike, which is about how long the first half of my morning rides take. So even if I she my mom won't give drive me, I can get there by bike with no problem. This takes me from thinking I might want to do it, to really seriously thinking about actually doing it. Now it's just a matter of fighting through my anxiety and convincing myself to contact the woman who runs it.

My son took these pictures of some local varmints in our central Florida yard.
It takes you back to Castle Dracula, Tod Browning (1931) style.
Look at the standing armadillo, resplendent in armored cape, whom I've named "Lugosi."

This roadrunner ran in front of me during my bike ride Monday, and almost made me crash.

We went out to visit the donkeys again today, and I wasn't planning on taking any more pictures or videos, but we ended up closer than we've ever gotten, so I couldn't resist.

I also took come pictures, but Imgur is being weird and won't let me upload them from my phone, and I get an error if I try to take them from Facebook.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention something kind of cool that happened while we were watching the donkeys, a foal actually nursed from it's mom right there in front us while we were watching them. One of the jacks also walked up and stood right behind them, so we're thinking that one might have been dad being protective.

As cute as this is, I have to wonder if the middle of the road is really the best place to play.
