The Animals That Aren't Dogs or Cats Thread

Yeah, that is crazy.
OK, so I gotten myself into a bit of a predicament today. So, I've mentioned before that I'm an atheist, but there are times that I do wonder if fate or destiny or something like is a thing, and if it is I think it was screwing with me today. So, before I went on a bike ride this morning, I kind of half-jokingly thought to myself if I came across any horseback riders out on the street during my bike ride, I'd look more seriously into either going on a trail ride or vising the farm animal sanctuary I've been thinking about volunteering at, and I saw two different horseback riders. They weren't the ones who stop and talk, and let me pet their horses, these were different ladies. Oh, and there's a house I go past on a different part of my ride that has horses, and I saw someone in their backyard with a horse, and rarely ever see anyone out there. So now I'm wondering if I really should take this as a sign, and go through with one of them.

I dunno know about fate or not fate but I feel like you’d regret not looking into it!

We saw a couple of the donkeys while we were out at the park today, and I had my phone with, so I was able to get some pictures and video.

The worst thing about the encounter was that we had been hiking out in the open desert area behind the park for like an hour and a half, went out probably well over a mile, and when we were on our way back to the main part of the park we found those two were hanging out right by the gate.

I was a tiny bit disappointed, because last time we saw some there was a big group of about 5 or 6, but this time it was just those 2.
These were actually take from fairly far away, after we got home I zoomed it, and edited the videos a bit. We actually did manage to slowly and carefully get quite a bit closer, but I just didn't feel like trying to take any more pictures or videos at that point. It was hard because we were out in the sun and I couldn't actually see anything on my phone screen. I think they actually turned out pretty good when you consider that I had no idea what I was actually taking pictures or vide of. I was just kind of point my phone in their direction and hoping I got them.

So had another horse encounter today, and kind of broke my own rule. The stables has a fenced in area in front of it, and three new horses I'd never seen before were out there today, and when I went by one actually ran by on the far side of the paddock. I think running with me because they were right across from and matching my speed.
Then when I was on the way home, they were right over on one side that's right along the street, so I stopped to watch them and talk to them. I swore I wasn't going to pet them, but then I looked over and the one who had run along with me had it's head over the fence and was just staring at me.
I couldn't resist that, so I did pet them. I think it got a bit jealous, because when I pet the other two, it came in and forced it's way in between them, and stopped right in front of me. So yeah, I think I have a horse friend now.
I also discovered kind of a weird feeling, when I my hand out before I pet one of the others, it started rubbing lips up and down my hand. I had my hand in front of me, so it took me a second to realize what the weird sensation was.

This horse really loves rolling in the dirt, and water

Being a Civil War guy...what this says to me.

Traveller is telling Bobby Lee to DIG and entrench, and Cincinnati is telling Grant to ignore it and flank him to the right.
