The Animals That Aren't Dogs or Cats Thread

I have those, the thing is I can’t seem to attract the mice. I tried peanut butter, chocolate and cheese. Nothing got them into the traps. Also, I have no where to release them. I live in the center of south Philly. So if I put them in the sewer they’ll just go to another persons house.

I just wish the peppermint was more effective. I would have candy canes in every corner.

Additionally, I feel bad for them. If it wasn’t for their ability to spread bacteria I would dress them up and give them names!!! Let’s face it, Fred is kind of a large mouse.

No, this is not a hunting photo.....Briton Alex Larenty lives on a game reserve in South Africa and spends his days giving lions foot massages. One day, he discovered that every time a lion was applied a cream to cure an infection on its paws, the lion would slacken and appear to smile. Since then, he has massaged all the lions in the park on a daily basis. Thanks to the pampering, he created a bond such that just by seeing him arrive, the lions lie down, begin to stretch their legs and smile. With love and respect, all relationships are possible!

Covered the apartment in peppermint oil because I indeed have a mousey in the housey. Any other suggestions would be helpful!

Feral cat population explosion in my neighborhood been causing mice to come inside. A recent exterminator visit netted me some free advice I will share here.

Out in open space, mice run straight ahead until they meet an obstacle then run along it to the left or right. Once they are alongside something they will stay close to it so placing traps along surfaces is key. If a trap never catches one, even if it is baited, then probability is they are not running along that surface - repositioning traps increase chances of capture.

He said bait isn't needed if trap is placed where they are walking but if you must, best bait is PB or stinky cheese. They will smell it quicker than see it (mostly blind) but won't leave edges of walls unless spooked, forced to. Set near walls.

So far as kind of trap, he set spring loaded but my old glue traps were the ones that worked after I re-positioned them. After capture, unless they get their noses stuck in and suffocate, applied euthanasia is required to stop suffering.

Finding entry point is key to stopping re-infestation. Follow the droppings to holes. Stuff holes with scratchy steel wool them patch holes. Hope this helps, good luck!

Thank you!! I worry about glue traps because if I’m asleep they may be suffering for a good while :(

It's Androcles and The Lion!

It's Androcles and The Lion!
~
Androcles, is the main character of a common folktale about a man befriending a lion. The tale is included in the Aarne–Thompson classification system as type 156. The story reappeared in the Middle Ages as "The Shepherd and the Lion" and was then ascribed to Aesop's Fables.

from google - btw

With George Bernard Shaw's play being a more recent version.
