The Japanese TV game show is pure awesome, I want to be in one sometime, they do love it over there, and the game shows are craaaaaaaaazy

I hate Wasabi though, and not a big fan of sushi

See, like I said with the eating thing. Me and my dad would be so screwed at that point. We'd probably manage to shove it down, eventually. :p

You know though, my younger sister whom I'd want to take on the race loves sushi and wasabi, she eats it a lot, she would have done this challenge easily

Non elim leg in the first leg, interesting, that's new. I guess those two girls got what they deserved for lying about their occupation, Karma I guess. So a 2 hour penalty plus a speedbump, wow, they won't make it.

Well, good start to the season IMO, I liked the tasks, including the very very first one before the first leg, and I don't really care about who got eliminated, so it is all good. I want to see Lance go next, I don't like him.

I wonder if Eric and Lisa have to go the safe house, you know where they always send teams who are eliminated until the end of filming?

I think I am liking Meghan and Cheyne right now, they seem to be very good people, and race well. I also like Mika and Canaan as well. They may have lied up front, but I like Maria, she is very cute, and seems like a good person. Not liking her friend too much though. It is hard to figure out who to root for this early on to be honest.

Sorry man, I'll try to pace myself. :borg:

So who would everyone take with them if they were on the race?

Easy, I'd take my sister, both of us are travelers, we love to travel, she has been to Africa on a mission trip, she is aware of the show and we watched a season if together and I explained pretty much everything about it, plus I've seen EVERY season of TAR, and it would be a great bonding experience for us, she won't qualify though for at least 2 years, have to be 18 right? If I couldn't take her, then my other sister who is older, I think we'd do real well in the race.
Sorry 21.

Interesting start to the race. I'm glad the yoga couple was eliminated at the start- 30 seconds of listening to them was enough.

Loved the wasabi challenge. I once accidently ate a glob of wasabi (was in a dark restaurant and thought it was artichoke), so I know how nasty that was.

Not sure who to root for. I kind of like the Montana father and son team, but I don't think they'll last long. I can't stand the Boston lawyer, but that team should be good for a few blow ups.

Wasabi is yummy.

Anyway, I was shocked at the start. I knew that there wasn't going to be an elimination at the end of the first episode... so they put it at the beginning. They even had the dude say something like "We're going to be numero uno!" right at the beginning. What bastards.

The premiere was great! The game show wasabi challenge and the duck coralling were hilarious! Nice comback for the lying poker players (seems like not everyone heard the revelation about their true occupations). Sucks to be the yoga couple, since they probably would have been good competitors; but the guy seemed kind of full of himself. The older woman, Marcy, is annoying; Zev, the Duck Whisperer, is pretty cool; that girl Mika has gorgeous eyes.

What's the deal with the stupid reason for not wanting people to know you're a poker player? The women said that the others would think that they're good at all games because they play POKER and wouldn't help them?

Give me a break. That's like saying because I'm an excellent bowler I'd be a threat on the football field.

Loved the quick elimination. And herding ducks AND Japanese audience members was a crazy parallel. TOO funny.

I notice there is no team consisting of a brother and a sister this time. Perhaps because of the last two teams that won ... ?

Glad the show is back AND won its seventh consecutive Emmy last week! Sit on THAT, Survivor and American Idol.

Their reasoning was that they are wealthy because of playing poker, i.e. they already have a lot of money, so why would a team want to help them win even more money.

Yeah, I noticed no brother/sister team, but you are right, every brother sister team has done real well, but they do have a brothers team.

Haven't you heard of "poker face"?

Isn't the way to win at poker is to essentially be a good liar?

If everyone knew they played poker, they couldn't gain anyone's trust or sympathy to help them not get eliminated (at least early on; obviously, the last few legs would be cut throat competition).

I usually have a few teams I cant stand and I hope lose.

I dont want the Poker players to win. They dont need the money. They dont do real work and I'm sure they are rich.

For some reason I dont like the Assberger guy. He is annoying.

I dont like the two gay brothers. Everytime I see them I think they probably get it on with each other.

The Harlem Globtrotter guys are cool, but they got money so I dont care if they get booted off the show.

I kind of like the old people couple. I hope they make it to the end, but I doubt it.

Uuuuuuummmmmmmmmmm.........and the problem with that is?!?!?!

Funny thing is, my partner and I were saying we HOPED that happens!!!!

:guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw:

Hate the poker bitches - very surprised that the Asian chick did so bad in Japan. She should LOVE wasabi!

Surprised at the old couple doing so well.

The hillbilly father and son are doing quite well, too.

Aspergers guy is SO endearing and I don't think people here realize just HOW DAMNED HARD all of this would be for him. He is INCREDIBLE in stepping out of his comfort zone as much as he is!

Looks like I am the only one feeling the love for big arms - but then I am a sucker for a huge pair of guns.

I dont like the two gay brothers. Everytime I see them I think they probably get it on with each other.

I just mentioned this to my partner who is a psych major and his response was that you maybe have some latent homosexual tendencies yourself.

Hmmmm....I seem to like the teams that everyone else hates.

My favorite by far is the gay brothers. Second is the poker girls, and third is the team with the Asperger's guy.

Guess I never weighed in, did I?

Well, I liked the gay brothers, the older couple, and the father\son team (I'm a sucker for them, I think, I rarely dislike those teams). Didn't mind the poker girls, though I thought they raced pretty poorly. Globetrotters are also cool, mostly because they're a lot of fun and are clearly reveling in the attention.

And I will also join in with those who think the lawyer is a douche.
