The Amazing Race - 5/03/2009 - (Live Commentary/Discussion)

Would you really piss yourself though? Even for a million dollars?
If I was guaranteed the million, probably. If it's just to stay in the running, probably not.

Notice I leave myself leeway (peeway?) either way. :)

Probably? So you are saying that for a guaranteed million dollars you would only probably piss yourself?

Hell I'd piss myself for $1,000 without a second thought, big deal it's not pleasant but then you go have a shower and change your clothes and you are done with it.

Seriously my friend peed himself because he was driving home, and decided it was too annoying to pull over on the side of the road, and that he could just shower anyway. That's probably a bit farther than I'd go, but hell, if it's a bidding war, I'll pee myself for $100, thanks. If I could get that deal on a daily basis that's a nice second income!

I don't know, I don't think I could do it. There's something horrifyingly wrong about peeing on oneself. I feel the same way about not wearing underwear. I remember a time when I was about 7 and my family was on vacation. We stopped by a neighboring hotel and went swimming at night. We didn't have swimsuits so my sister and I just wore our undies. Afterwards, in the changing rooms, I went to put my clothes back on and my mom said I had to take my underwear off because they were wet and it would make me too cold walking back to the hotel. I tried to refuse and basically freaked out. I felt panicked and started screaming and crying. Not so much in a tantrum way but more in a frightened way. My mom wouldn't let me have them and so I had to put my clothes on with no underwear and it was the most sickening feeling in the world. That walk back to the hotel was awful. It felt so wrong and it makes me feel creepy just thinking about it now.

Anyway, that's much the same way I feel about peeing on myself. I don't think I could willingly do it for any amount of money.

Not to mention there's cameras around, so I'm sure that wouldn't help matters.

Sure it would feel very wrong to pee on yourself but it's only temporary, your saying that for a million dollars you couldn't pretend you were going to the bathroom normally while really wearing clothes? Well then I hope I'm in a pee yourself for a million dollars contest against you!

That underwear story is just odd. I understand because as I child I could get very stubborn about things, but I quickly outgrew it.

There have been several posts about peeing on ourselves yet my story is too much information?

It was less about stubborness and more about doing something that feels like it goes against all you know.

I could understand if it was a teacher at school or in PE making you do it(as a child), but this was your own mother. We are kinda hardwired to trust our parents(especially our mothers)and if they tell us it's okay to do something, we usually accept that it's okay.

But I fear this thread has gone way off topic.

Well, given that Fear Factor ran for like a billion episodes, I'm sure one of them had the contestants pee themselves to win some money... so at least it's reality show related.

Heh, true. The "probably" is because it would be witnessed by millions of television viewers and I'd never live it down. :D

Luke sure can hold a grudge, and for nothing

I like Luke and his mom. He has a right to hold a gruge the black chick was mean and I was glad to see them go. They should have never made fun of a deaf young man.
