The Amazing Race - 3/8/2009 - (Live Commentary/Discussion)

Were the teams tipped off by a cameraman, the show would have ACKNOWLEDGED that fact on the air, just as when there's a mechanical failure which causes delays and so forth.

It ain't the "21 game show scandal" days of the 50's anymore.

Where did I make any such accusation? I simply commented that something depicted on screen seemed very unusual to me. Yes, I think the cameraman probably tipped off the teams but only accidentally. It was not my intention to imply anything was deliberate. You tried to correct me about what was shown on screen but you were, in fact, wrong and I defended what I said by providing evidence. It's OK; everyone is wrong occasionally. Cheers. :techman:

I feel bad for Amanda and Kris, but U-Turning them was a sound strategy, as they're a big physical threat (especially Kris). I don't like the idea of a Blind U-Turn, though.

yeah, luke and his mom got away with it, errr, when they get back and watch this episode they are gonna be so mad when they find out it was luke and his mom that did them in

Well they weren't told by producers who did it. But I would expect (since Luke appears to be honest next week about doing it), that they next team eliminated will tell them at their elimination villa.

In clips they also talk about why they suspected it was Kisha & Jen. Apparently at the last Pit Stop teams were talking about who would or wouldn't use the U-Turn. And Kisha and Jen were the team that was most vocal about absolutely using it.

They even mention that they would, but with them (on this episode) being so far in front due to the other teams missing the connection they had a nice buffer. In other words don't waste this one, use it when you need it.

What I find so funny is that the main reason Luke & Margie used the U-Turn was to help the teams they were aligned with (primarily Jaime & Cara and Tammy & Victor). As far as I know its the first use of the U-Turn or the Yield to aid another team. Of course the side benefit for them is that they did really perceive Kris as the biggest physical threat in the game.

Are you kidding me? I'm wrong frequently! Apologies for misreading you. :)

Don't worry about it at all.

Everything's cool.

No hard feelings.

I choose to U-Turn TGTheodore!

Damn, sucks that Amanda and Kris got the boot. They were a good team, and Amanda was kind of smoking.

Ah well...

Speaking of which, I hope Tammy does the roadblock they showed in the previews for next week (at least I think it's a roadblock).
