The Adventures of Argus: Nuclear Time

Glad you're enjoying it, Mistral.

The two plot threads you've mentioned are Argus' two longest running ones (as in they're the longest planned).

Kate Sheridan's origins are tied to the events of Voyager's "Endgame" and there are very specific reasons why she's ended up on the Argus (to see what the universe would be like without her, check out Star Trek: Liberty's "Dream Time"). She also tied to Kara Tarm, the strange woman Sara Parker met on Deep Space Six (as are Sara and Jonozia).

Lex's message to Sara will be recorded in a later story and it's linked to the two people you see in the prologue and the "entity" that appeared at the end of Chapter 10.

Don't worry, answers are coming.

Well, now I'm even more curious. Looked at the Dreamtime page-where's the rest of the Liberty archive? Do you have a link?

Trek is right about all of this. I have been a long time fan of the series and I have seen the many changes that Argus has gone through. I don't know if I said this lately but I do like the changes and makes the story line stronger than before.

The rest of Liberty can be accessed through http://www.ussliberty.net (Click on the image and then, select "Fiction" from the menu at the top, followed by Story Archive). Kate Sheridan was on the Liberty during 2375 (or Argus season 2), and there's alot of cross over between the two series.

The next story is a Dominion War one that follows up on a plot threads from "Trial By Fire" and "Nuclear Time", called "Mind War". The story after that, which has big changes for Sara Parker, is called "Blood Ties" (Fleetcaptain, you'll know that as "The Homecoming", but it's very different now).

Wow. Just read Dreamtime. Amazing story. You really have a way with it. I was astounded at the amount of stuff you've written over at the Liberty page as well. Did the events of Dreamtime have anything to do with Sheridan being found adrift as related in the Argus stories? And if so, is it a Mirror-type event or a PDP? Because there was mention of her leaving Lex's command due to some unspecified trouble to go to Liberty. I will probably delve into the Liberty archives but that could take a while-say, a year. (I actually read the Christmas story near the top of the story page about 9 months ago-didn't realize till today that was you. I had found the link to Liberty in STExpanded Universe wiki!) Anyway-great story. It was enough to peak my interest in Montovanni(did I spell that right?) and want to go back and read some more.

As much as I'd love to take credit for Liberty, it's not my series. It's written by a guy called Joseph Manno, who also proof read and edited Argus pre-relaunch (hence the connections to my series). I am quite flattered though that you didn't see a differance between the quality on my stuff and Joes. :D

The Events of Dreamtime do have something to do with Sheridan's arrival, which also links in with Season 2's "The Differance of One", which in concurrent with "Dreamtime" and tells the story from Kate's and the Argus' side of things, Season 3's "Let Forever Be" and Season 4's "Voyager's Child", which tells the story of what happened in "Endgame" from another angle. (There will be a Season 5 story that deals with this plot thread too, but I haven't planned it out yet. :))

So you have everything planned out again and ready to make the big changes I see? Sounds great. I'm about to start on a series of my own soon, which happens to deal w/ Voyager itself. I put my other series on the backburner for right now, which will have a few ties to the one I'm working on right now through.

Actually, it's only Season 1 and the first two episodes of season 2 (so up to the end of the "Dimension Jump" four parter) are getting complete rewrites. From then on (with a couple of exceptions) stories will be edited to fit the new plot lines (some heavily, like "Never Never Land", which will be retitled "The Difference of One", with others left almost completely the same, like "The Journey").

There will be a new story in season 2, "The Two Front War" along with "The Difference of One", which moves from season 3, making "Let Forever be" a two part story to close season 3 and open Season 4. Season 4 (which is the least complete) will then have three new stories: "Voyager's Child" (which is half complete), "Revelations" and an untitled story I'm still developing.

The full list is up at Argus' ST Expanded wiki page.

I'll have to check that out now. I haven't been on Expanded Universe in awhile. I'm sure I would have catched it then too. Thanks.

Total agreement with Mistral! You put us through all that and then ... well people have to read to find out. Way to keep us on our toes!

Lol. :D

One of the things I always loved about the plot of this was it's not your run-of-the-mill time travel story. I never wanted it to be cut a dried like that.

Thanks fleetcaptain.

I've posted Chapter 19, which should start to answer some questions after the twist. :)

Next Saturday is the last update for this story as I'll post the final chapter and epilogue at the same time. Then it's on to "Mind War" (of which I've only got 3,000 word written so far, so I better get cracking. :)).

Well here we go - the final update. Chapter 20 and the Epiloge of Nuclear Time have been posted at USSArgus.com

Let me know what you think. :)

Great ending. Reminded me of the old verison but really loved this one. Can't wait for Mind War. It will be worth the wait indeed.
