I've seen both terms mentioned, and neither one indicates "hate" for old skool/long time fans.

Those slogans and others used in the unprecedentedly huge ad campaign promoting the film are aimed at getting the attention of audiences which either have never watched Trek at all or haven't watched it for years. They're just pieces of advertising, each tailored to reach a particular demographic, and I certainly don't view any of them as being in any way a slap at me, personally, or at any longtime Trek fans.
