Alfred's history with in the military and espionage comes from the comics, so it wasn't just something the Gotham writers came up with. I think it's been a pretty standard part of most version of Alfred's backstory. It's the whole basis for the Pennyworth series on EPIX in the US.

Yes, sorry I forgot to mention that (I knew but I never read any comics, all I know I learnt from discussions about the series). In "Gotham" he originally was written as someone from the Marines, then they did change that to S.A.S. to match his skills better. Here's an interview with Sean Pertwee talking about it: https://www.assignmentx.com/2018/go...-4-and-all-things-alfred-exclusive-interview/

I also enjoy watching the new series "Pennyworth" by the same producers, where he is a spy through and through and we wonder whether he ever becomes a butler as it seems to be an entirely different universe.

Did you watch the videos Kim? Happy you like the music scene!

I keep hoping they'll put Pennyworth up on HBOMax, but I haven't heard or seen anything there yet.

Very cute! I have super complicated feelings about Seska but I don’t ‘ship her with Chak. I would like to have seen her slowly revert to her Cardassian appearance as she learns to work towards true integration with the entire crew. It didn’t have to be either /or.

Oh, interesting idea! Like she has to take some pills and once she runs out she is reverting?
I saw a bit of sadness in Chakotay at the end when he stands at her deadbed.
Also I guess he was conflicted whether to be sad or relieved that the baby wasn't his.

Finally it's warm outside - time for the first ice cream of the year!
Chakotay even took off his jacket for the occasion.

Yeah, like an organ transplant that needs constant medication so the body won’t reject the transplant. Or something that makes full reverse necessary. Either way I thought she was too interesting to kill off. It certainly would’ve put a wedge between her and Chakotay and where that would go; well that would’ve been interesting too. People complain we didn’t see him develop (I liked him well enough) but he could’ve emoted all over the place over that.

I love the slice of life feel about the ice cream scene. A Summer day with your sweetie and ice cream. Also, a Vulcan with ice cream has so many possibilities! :rommie:

Aw cute! Nice to see something from your dolls again!

This is what I have been doing for the past two days.
I cut up the jumpsuit into pants and a jacket. Had to open the seams to remove the sewn-in grey turtleneck shirt, and resew black and red together. I opened the front of the jacket and closed the back (where there was a gap closed with velcro).

I had to do the stitches several times as it was not easy to get a straight line. You do it at the back and then turn it around.

I think Kathryn approves of the new look.

Went to Best Buy in Lufkin Friday & picked up my Marvel Legends Deluxe M.O.D.O.K. that I ordered through the website & had delivered to the store. Only the second time I've done that, the first time was for the Marvel Legends Riders Series Squirrel Girl, which was curbside pickup since the store itself was closed to the public last year. This time, no ID check, no email confirmation, dude just asked for me last name, went behind the counter, came back & handed me the action figure.

The jacket wasn't the only crafting I did that weekend.

I customized the Triple Fiction Productions biobed.
I didn't really like the brown cover and for a long time searched for a fitting grey mesh. This still is not perfect but will do. It is a rubberband used for skirts.
I also made pillows. They have the round and sometimes also a triangle pillow. I cut out the forms from styrofoam. This seemed like a good idea but then it melted due to the glue - oops! ;) Remember to always use acid free glue.

I also noticed that the Seska figure does not have exactly the colors that she has on TV, especially the fur bits on her shoulders were painted lilac instead of grey. So I have tried to give her some proper colors. It's not easy to mix the right tone, I think the red on the arms is still not right but then the lighting in that scene is also odd.

maybe they got the label wrong?
The more you look at that the more you find ;)

Does anyone know who Bud Spencer and Terence Hill are? Their true names are Carlo Pedersoli and Mario Girotti and in the Seventies and Eighties they did a bunch of Italian Western Comedies which are cult over here in Europe and especially in Germany.

Also Terence Hill lived in a village nearby my home-city Dresden when he was a child, during the war, and still speaks German very well. He also has an ice cream parlour with his own ice cream here in Dresden.

And now there are figures of them! I could not resist. So I am leaving the Delta Quadrant for the Wild West.
