The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

Well I sure pushed myself to make this happen! I present Star Trek: Operation Escape. Due to it being large I put it in a spoiler tag.

WOW! You certainly outdid yourself here! I love the story and also the presentation. Great action shots! I love especially the one with "You could have warned me", that is a great angle.

The brig scene is one I also have on my list of things to recreate, especially since I have them in the red uniforms.

This one's a keeper!

Thank you! :) I even amazed myself working on this. It took me all day yesterday and a little bit of work this afternoon to get it just right. My favorite thing to do was Scotty phasering away the wall. That's a classic TOS effect.

I can't wait to see what you do with those. I loved the Marching Band pic you took with them.

Today's customizing project: An apron for Alfred! In the Butchery (hanging) story you saw this apron from a Wrestling figure, but it was too wide for thin Alfred. So I cut out a bit from the ties and made it tighter. I also painted it. He looks so great! It can be opened and closed at the backside even. Real cool apron.

New collection piece: Diamond Select Star Trek 50th Starship Legends Romulan Bird-of-Prey. Classic sound effects: Plasma Torpedo, Escape Manuever, Hull Impact, Destruct Button, Self-Destruct. Dialogue from Mark Leonard & episode "Balance of Power". Light-up engines, main saucer, and weapons. Especially like the distictive underbelly markings.

Finally I can show why I needed that apron for Alfred! I had set up this scene weeks ago and on the evening before I was taking the pictures I found this apron which belongs to a Wrestling figure. Then I had to wait for it to arrive and also make it tighter for Alfred. So here comes a re-creation of one of my favorite scenes - Alfred Pennyworth cooking a good English breakfast for Jim Gordon, who was wounded and is wearing a bathrobe.

I once bought that stove but this is the first use it gets. It fits perfectly for Wayne Manor!

Here's Jim with breakfast, coffee and a bowl of fruits:

Bad-ass Alfred is breaking eggs with both hands simultaneously! And here's my favorite quote:

"Right, so you were framed for the murder of that other police officer. You escaped from prison, you then tracked down the man that framed you and you were promptly shot in the leg.

Right, so, answer me this Detective.

Do you have any idea how you're gonna get out of this awful pickle?"

And some screenshots for comparison, look, I even got the cutlery and the bread and the jar right:

My new outfits for Kit and Ruthie arrived last week, and I took them out into the garden for a photo shoot. Glad I did it then, because the daffodils mostly died during the snow this week. :(

I'm going to do a series of dolls in the garden as it gets warmer. I just wanted to show off the new outfits first. I went through my outfit stash last month and realized I had no extra clothes for these two!

Thank you! I'll go change it at my various pages. Can't take back that tweet, though.

LOL! Although that's an odd thing to say at a date anyway. Maybe wait and surprise her? ;)

I once put my foot into my mouth when I innocently announced "Screw Stargate" and actually meant that someone was doing action figure theatre, only with screws instead of figures. It was pretty amazing. The golden screw was Apophis! Check it out here if anyone is interested, there are several stories: http://sg1screw.altervista.org/

Ah, gotcha! Like in the beginning of a movie with Sylvester Stallone, where he was hanging from a rock by one hand and said on the phone that he was just hanging around.

In a recent Gotham episode we saw Bruce coming to the decision that he would not kill. It was a pretty big moment and one of his first steps towards becoming Batman.

Thank you! Yes, it is one of those backgrounds that I bought in a shop and that come with many different pictures (bricks, sky, grass, sand, water, wooden fence, plaster stones...) It's actually a bit too big for the small figures and works better with 1:6 scale.

Do you know of a similar product intended for 3.75" figures (1:18 scale)?

Do you mean the special metallic floor? No, I haven't seen this in smaller, but I found some small enough brickwalls, pepples etc. I guess in the end you could always try to print one yourself. Or let it professional be printed.

Guys, guys, I have news! They did an article in the newspaper about me and my figures, headline is "Sightseeing with Captain Kirk". They even showed some of my pictures. My figures also were very interested in reading this!

Ooh! I LOVE figures! I mostly have Star Wars figures right now, but I'd like to grow my Trek collection. Those 1:12 Collective figures look cool. I wish the Art Asylum...excuse me...Diamon Select TOS figures were still available at retail prices.

I should be receiving TOS Bridge Chairs that I modeled in 3D and had printed in the next couple of days in 1:10 and 1:12 (7" and 6").
