The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

Hasting's Books, Music & Video will be shut down by the end of the month. I went to the local store Saturday, and took advantage of the 60% off discount on action figures, and got the Batman: Arkham Knight Man-Bat for $10!

Big celebrations in my home-city Dresden this weekend, the annual national German holiday of the re-unification. All other German federal states came for a visit and showed off what they have to offer. I loved especially the state Nordrhein-Westfalen. I had to go home again and get my figures. You'll see why. Here Kirk and Spock are at "Zeche Zollverein" which is UNESCO world heritage. It's a former coal mine which was closed in 1986.

Today our trip through Germany arrives at the historical town hall / city hall in Münster. This was the first of the models I spotted, and I regretted not having any figures with me. In fact I went home again just to get them as otherwise I couldn't have lived with that missed opportunity.
I also have seen this building in real life when I was visiting a friend a few years ago!

Very odd thing to have a poseable figure of. I was kinda hoping you'd take a pic in the "Fiyapowah!" pose though! (Night at the Museum 2)
Yesterday "Night at the Museum 2" was in TV and I watched it for the first time. Thank you so much for the suggestion, I am so gonna do that! I am already collecting things and figures that I can use. I am only waiting for the Figma cherubs to come out (next year in March or something). So they can fly over their heads and sing "My heart will go on". I even have a flashlight (from Scully) for the security guard.
I even have a figure in an aviator suit!

This will be epic. Can't wait to start. I feel like back when I had the idea to do the David Tennant Hamlet with Doctor Who and Torchwood figures.

The last building from our German trip: Cologne Cathedral. It took over 600 years to finish. With a break of 300 years in between.

Did this simple custom of Captain Atlas a few days ago, seen here with older custom of his partner Dr. Minerva.

CCC.

After all these city trips, the guys want to have a nice hike! Off to the Externstones. No idea why they are called Externsteine, but they look really nice! Between Paderborn and Detmold, if anyone wants to go.

And one bonus picture. I couldn’t fit my figures in there but want to show it anyway. Meet Tuffi, the circus elephant who rode the Wuppertal suspension railway in 1950. Only she didn’t like it and jumped through the window into the river. She was not hurt thankfully.
This picture is a photo montage long before photoshop was invented.

Went by Hasting's again yesterday. They have a three day sale - 60% off action figures, plus an additional 20% off that discount price. I picked up the Marvel Legends figures for Sharon Carter and Mockingbird for about $8 each.

I'm not stressed about the Red Skull build-a-figure, since I already have the Red Skull from Captain America: The First Avenger.

"Spock's Brain"

I couldn't resist buying this brain shaped eraser yesterday in a dollar shop.
Wonder if I should go on a quest trying to illustrate all Star Trek episodes. They often had very poetic names, it may be fun to come up with a different interpretation!

Like:
Shore Leave
The Naked Time
The Doomsday Machine

and...

Friday's Child!

;)

You know, I was more thinking about poetic titles like "For the World is hollow and I have touched the sky" or "What are little girls made of" ;)
And now you come and give me "The Naked Time". Yes, I think I will have fun with these!

I always wondered what would happen if Malcolm Merlyn / Dark Archer from "Arrow" and Indiana Jones had a scimitar fight. Who would win? Well, if you know Indy, you know the solution to the problem ;)
