The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

Mini Grace went with me to D.C. last week. She had fun seeing everything!

It's always preferable seeing a doll in front of Congress rather than a bunch of puppets. :)

Wave 4 of the world Nintendo figures expected out Late 2015. (Hopefully on all store shelves this time unlike wave 3 where I had to resort to overspending on Ebay...)

I have the original (orange) version of the Samus figure and I might have to look for Link. Is he a new addition for W4? It'd be nice to find the Metroid too but I haven't yet seen it locally. :p

I saw that at my Target the other day. I don't collect those but that set looks nice for what it is.

Mine has yet to restock any of the new 6" Black Series figures and the peg wall is still just as dry as it was the past few times I checked. Force Friday wiped out a lot of my area stores.

Local Wal-Mart had a shitload of 3.75" Poe Dameron. But nothing beyond that.

Constable Zuvio and the Resistance Trooper are the big 3.75" pegwarmers in my area, unless you count the vastly overpriced and goofy-looking Armor Up assortment figures in the larger packaging.

Boba Fett needs armor to cover and protect his durable and battle-tested Mandalorian armor, but that armor only comes down to his waistline? Not even a classroom full of the smartest Jedi younglings with Yoda as their teacher could solve that math problem.

So just as I posted the other day...Wallmart restocked, but once again the shelves were raided. Chewie. Finn, and the botched Rey were left behind. I still can't believe how badly they botched her.

I have yet to see a 6" Rey in person except for one copy that's being sold by a local shop owner for more than I want to pay for her. I don't think she looks terrible in any way, but they definitely should have applied superior paint apps to the head sculpt for the prices of these 6" figures.

Frankly, the BB-8 included in the package interests and excites me more than the Rey figure.

I suspect BB is the only reason why people are still buying the figure. If you watch Youtube reviews her sculpt, paint job, and likeness are all cited as major negatives.

I hope Hasbro corrects this in a re-release. It was my most anticipated release from the Black Series for The Force Awakens as mentioned before. I still might pick up Elite Series Rey.

I said it before: the 3.75" figure of Rey with just 5 POA looks better than the premium, 6-inch Black Series version of her. That should never be the case with any character, but that's just the kind of Quality Control collectors have to put up with these days.

I finally scored the basic carded 3.75" Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma yesterday evening. It took three weeks to track them down but I happened to spot them for $8 each and went ahead and picked them up. Who knows when many of us will again see either of those figures the way restocking is going at most big box retail stores.

Good luck, man. I have yet to track down any of those new 2-packs in my own area and I've been using the Target DPCI number trackers to locate shipments of those figures that may or may not yet be out on the sales floor. Between Brickseek and Fyndly I've learned that about 60% of Target stores nationwide have those 2-packs in stock and right now none of the stores within easy driving distance have any of them.

My Target's pegs right now are drier than the surface of Tatooine.

On the bright side, Walgreens is getting Wave 2 of the 6" figures with Captain Phasma and Poe Dameron, so there's always that chain to look for the newest stuff the big box retailers either can't stock or won't.

Jedi Temple Archives just posted a story about a Canadian retailer who's offering something related to Star Wars toys. I can't remember the specific details but it may or may not pertain to you. Just check out the website's main page and it's one of the most recent updates.

I've yet to see the Metroid either. But no, Skyward Sword link was in wave one. For wave four it's Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask link. :)

The new TFA Resistance Trooper in the 6" Black Series line has just been revealed thanks to a review video posted just a few days ago.
